i just saw a newsflash indicating that Don Adams of Get Smart, died today.

what a great little show that was back "in the day" :)

Agent 86, we'll miss you by < T H A T > MUCH.

That's really sad to hear. Get Smart is one of my all-time favorite shows. I'm still waiting for them to release on DVD. Heck, if they can shovel out the kind of old TV garbage that they're releasing right now, you'd think they'd be able to get "Get Smart" out there.

Also, have you heard that Mel Brooks and Buck Henry are making a movie version starring Steve Carell? So far so good on that front.

I saw the original "Get Smart" movie entitled "The Naked Bomb". Boy, it was terrible and probably did "bomb" as well. Nothing close to the original TV series IMO. Not sure if Mel Brooks and Buck Henry collaborated on that one, but if they are indeed making another one then I'd guess they've had a few years to get this one right.

onwards...

They sure don't make them like they use to... he sure was an original. . .

Sharp witted spoofs that don't insult one's intelligence, cherish the thought of such nowadays!?! Perhaps it's no wonder I maybe watch barely a few hours of tv per week; usually inclusive of news: headlines, weather, sports highlights, or Disc./A&E/Bio./Spike/E!

Yes, I saw that one too. Horrible movie. There was also a TV movie that came out about ten years ago, and that one had some of the original actors like Barbara Feldon. I didn't pay much attention to it since I didn't want to see another lame TV reunion movie like the Brady Kids Get Married. :)

Having Buck Henry and Mel Brooks could be a good thing, but I'm also wary of Brooks' recent movies like "Dracula, Dead and Buried". Boy, that movie was so bad that it is the only movie that ever made me think of walking out of the theater. I did get back my money though. :D

I still laugh pretty hard when I think about the Cone of Silence.

Me too. A moment of silence for a true comedian...
