Purchasing 2004 Dilemma... advice requested

Man the silver interior is what makes my car. I think it's 10x better than the black you get in every other car. Pilots and accords don't come with silver interiors. They do come in black.

Heh! you will find that this community has a pretty solid pulse on the sales ads. Even though I am not in the market, I pop through the for sale ads now and then to see what is out there.

The price of that car is going to depend on the condition. If it is a 1 owner, 21k clean car that it may very well be worth the $$$.

Since both cars are silver, I assume the deal-breaker is the silver interior? Having seen a silver interior, I think you would end up being happy with it - it is very subtle. Now, the red with red interior on the other hand, THAT is a combo you have to REALLY love.

Silver cars aren't terribly rare though. In fact, I see several 2002+ Silvers on Autotrader right now:

2002 - 66k miles - $51,000
2002 - 4k miles - $69,980
2002 - 20k miles - $74,000
2002 - 34k miles - $64,900
2003 - 20k miles - $65,000
2003 - 47k miles - $59,900
2005 - 47k miles - $52,950

No, the other car I am interested in that is perfect is yellow/black. My preferred color is Silver/Silver. The rebuilt title is silver/silver. The perfect low mileage for $70K+ is yellow/black. If I can get over the color, that is the perfect car for me. Just not sure I like driving an NSX around that is colored like a school bus. :-P

If i was to buy another NSX it would be in Yellow or LBBP... I owned a Silverstone and loved it. It had taken me almost two years to get my Silver 05 with at the time 13k miles.. but i was even tighter with my requirements.

If yellow isnt what you want then dont, and hold out. Silver is/was the most common color and will obviously be the most traded color. The silver interior limits you slightly but still a common car.

The rarity of the yellow is another factor that kinda nudges me toward getting it despite the fact that it's not really what I want. I figure I should have no problem selling it in the future since it seems many more people out there like yellow than I do and the supply is limited. I wish you still have your Silver to sell me! You had what I want now! :-P

lol... How easy is it to find a nice car again? doesnt matter the color. if you have a good car you will have buyers. Yellow or Silver if i have a good clean car priced right there will be a line of buyers. I wouldnt look at it like that.... I bought my Orange b/c i loved the color. being an 8k mile 05 Orange/Onyx was just the luck of the draw.

there is on average 200+ people Lurking on Prime. There are hundreds of people looking for "the one" Once a good car comes up priced right its sold in a week.

I agree with you completely. It seems like condition is more important than color in the grand scheme of things. Like you said, how easy is it to find a nice car again? Based on that, are you saying you think I should get the perfect yellow one? :-P

When i was spending my money on a Silverstone... I had plane tickets to Kentucky, Iowa and Minnesota. Ended up driving from iowa to minn just to see the car (owner was in disney at the time and a neighbor opened the garage) and flew back the next week to get the PPI. I want you to follow your heart, but if i was spending north of 40k on anything it would be what i wanted and not what i thought i could hedge against a sale in a few years.

if you like yellow, get it... if not then wait for a silver. If i recall there is atleast 3 of em for sale now and typically all the time. But the clean ones are tough in any color...

Prime knows their shit man.... LOL

If you notice.... ALL these numbers are outrageously small...

28 of my "more popular" silver color with a silver interior sold in 2005. wow... Aston Martin sold 10X as many Vanquishes.
