Brian,

does your chip work with OBD1 with Drive By Wire?

Do you offer a chip to work with the ID's?

Is the ECU socketed? can my technician install it plug and play or is there soldering involved?

If we were to install a FIC at a later date, install old chip or continue to use yours?

That's the only ECU that you can put a chip in..... OBD2 does not allow for chips.
 
Mark, you and any member here are most welcome to that tune. It's really Prospeed's work and they have it saved and anyone between 5000 and 6000 will just love it! Also, I wanted to mention I drove it to 3,500ft and had zero issues.

Super! Now if I can only get Brian's attention. Brian requested me to pm him, which I did, and have yet to get a response. Perhaps he will see this and get back to me.

I wouldn't expect any issues at 3500', and perhaps none at sea level either, but I would rather have a sea level chip to change back to when I return to lower levels. Since there was a considerable performance change at our altitudes, something is very different, likely in the A/F ratios.

It was nice meeting you the other night at the car meet. Also thanks for taking me for a ride in your car with the high altitude tune with the RDX injector upgrade! The car did scream when it hit VTEC for sure! I know when me and you were in it, I did notice that it seems to slam into VTEC around 5800 rpm. Almost like a slight hesitation while the switch is being made. Thanks for the offer of helping me when I get the injectors and tune in! I will keep you posted as to my time frame on that.

I've integrated the sea level and high altitude tune together and it's worked seamlessly :) I've implemented the tune so I have it ready to go.

I have a question regarding the high altitude tune, you said that you've "integrated the sea level and high altitude tune together" so basically the ecu and various sensors will adjust the map in the ecu to whatever altitude it's reading?:confused:

Also Mark said that before he had the high altitude tune the car felt great in the mid-range, but it felt flat up top. After he got the high altitude tune he lost some of the mid-range and gained the upper range (I think that's what Mark said, and Mark you can chime in here if I misunderstood what you said)instead?

So the question is: The fact that the tune being integrated (sea level & high altitude) now, does the tune give you the same gains in the mid-range as before, plus the gains made in the upper range of the high altitude tune?

Eagerly waiting to get my injectors and tune after riding in his car:biggrin:

Bump......Anybody heard from Brian? It's been over 2 weeks and haven't heard back anything on this post. I tried calling the phone# on his website and even left a voicemail as well?
 
Have you confirmed over time that the injectors and ECU tune passes CA smog? Just want to be sure...
 
Was installation a breeze like they say? Do you have headers and other free flow exhaust upgrades? Just starting the journey so any info or input would be great.

yeah i have intake,intake scoop,headers and exhaust,install was not too bad just follow the instructions and make sure the injectors are clocked properly,real nice power bump in the mid-range!
 
I got the correct jumpers a few days ago, but didn't have time to get everything installed and a tune.
I posted about it in another thread for the 3.2L.

Any owners with this mod noticing better fuel economy , or worse? I have it with a series 2 ems.. Power and torque is noticeable, but my fuel economy isn't the best. Going back to the tuner soon for another look
 
Fuel economy has everything to do with the part throttle tuning and make sure 02 sensor is enabled. What type of dyno are you tuning on? When we tune the part throttle we do it on a load bearing dyno and we get as close to stoich or a tad leaner afr to maximize fuel economy. We actually send a good part of the tuning time on our part throttle maps... It really helps with smooth power transitions and fuel economy throughout the map.
 
So who has this setup on their OBD II cars and does it pass CA smog?
 
It was tuned on dyno dynamics Dyno. They told me about load tuning, but i don't know how much time he spent doing part throttle. He mentioned plugging in values based on certain runs and left it at that.

I'll talk to him again. Does anyone have a map I can show him? I am on AEM series 2

yes it's a common problem, the vendor is just randomly "öff the air" for days at a time, even a week or two. very annoying.
just keep trying to get him, any way you can
 
Seems like there's a fair amount of back and forth on this so I just wanted to add in my two cents. I've only put on a few hundred miles since the install but so far I agree with the pros/cons that everyone has already mentioned. The added power is quite nice, the car runs smoothly and it starts up without any hesitation unlike before where it might take a few seconds (stock engine with about 70k miles). I'm really happy with improvement, especially since part of the mod also doubles as a maintenance item (new/clean injectors). The downside like others have mentioned is the order process can be a bit slow, especially because you need to send in your ECU and Brian's communication isn't as responsive as it could be. I would've loved to see proactive emails on his part as well as a ECU trade in service with a core charge to eliminate downtime but overall I'm quite happy now that it's all said and done. If you can afford the down time it's a great mod.

Thanks Brian and everyone else involved, it's great to see new things are still being developed for our cars. My suggestion would be to pickup a few ECUs you can use as cores and only take orders as ECUs are modified and ready to ship; you'd have both an excellent product and far less service issues to worry about at that point. It's a shame seeing one issue that could be easily fixed tarnishing an otherwise amazing offering.
 
I offer custom tuning services for customers local in the So Cal area. I can dial your car in on the dyno with the mods that you have using the NSX ECU. PM me if you're interested. This is especially important if you have a heavily modded or you track your NSX. If you have the standard bolt-on's the stage 3 rom does an excellent job.

I track my NSX frequently and have the Prospeed kit. As a precaution I had Brian check and tweak the numbers on the Dyno to make sure everything was running well. He was responsive through PM's and accommodating in finding and arranging dyno time that worked with both of our schedules. It netted me a few more hp and piece of mind that the tune was up to the task.

A+ review.
