Project NSX-R "cosmetic" conversion and non NSX-R related parts

Jason, hi. Called modern image yesterday to place and order for the red "H" sticker for the 02 nsx-r center caps. Spoke with Tio. Is there an order number that you have or code number so he can see the order that you placed, so I can order the exact sticker? Thanks, Frank
Frank,
There is no item#. The decal size were determined by trial and error. Modern Images made several of these before we got the correct size.

I can drop by Modern Image and give them the spare unused decal I have and ask them to save the size on file. Anyone who need the "H" decals for the wheel caps can call and order it in whatever color/finish they want (red/metallic/black/silver/gold/etc). No guarantee, but most likely I will stop by Modern Image next Monday.

Key points:
-I recommend ordering at least 5 pieces just in case. Vinyl will stretch easily. if you make a mistake while applying the decal, it is hard to undo the mistake and make corrections. I did manage, but not without frustrations.

-Intall it while wheel caps are off will make the job easier. I installed it while cap is on the wheel:tongue:.

Also is the weight of you stock 02 wheels? Are you still running Toyo T1-Rs on them? Or did you switch to a different tire?
Nathan,
I am still on same set of T1-Rs. The oem 02 Rear is 19.6lbs, I don't remember the weight for the front wheel, should be around 17~18lbs.

jdm shorties? final drive? what is your ideal weight? plan on any other reductions
Sonny,
I wish, 100% stock down to original oem clutch

Lighter the better, realisticly without stripping the car. There is another 100~150lbs to be trimmed with lighter parts. Nothing is planned at the moment.

Jason, thank you for the info. I most likely will send my wheels cenetr caps to modern image painted in the platinum white pearl ao whatever color is proper for the platinum white pearl paint on the car, not clearcoated, and once the caps come back to me, my paint guy will clearover the sticker.

Also, does your "H" color match that of the real Na2 nsx-r color? Thanks, Frank

Clips I recorded today, not ideal location due to length of the road, but fairly safe since the road is wide and its late on Sunday, I figure if someone work on Sunday they should left by 5:30pm. It did freak me out when someone rushed out from the building. I rolled down my window immediately and apologized, he gave me a thumbs up and told me to do as many runs as I wish.

Frank,
I am not sure, I honestly can't tell. They can probably match the color and shape. I should be making a stop there tomorrow, if you or anyone who just want exact copy of what I have, just give Modern Image a call.

Thanks for the vid! That twin tip is sweet! Nice to see something different than the single tip all the time.

Also are those real NSX-R wheels or 02+ wheels powder coated? They look great I'm just curious about their weight.

hmm, come to think of it. that clip... is that on gothard? near wheel power?

and at the end.. in that ally way, is that on beach and bolsa?
No, no, and no, but really good guess though.

Close to Gothard, near by powder coating place I used. I don't remember the name of the road. I was going to take the clip in Irvine with longer straight, but couldn't make it in before dark. Please use the PM for OT questions, thx:smile: Did we meet before at SCA?

Perry, They are OEM 02+ wheels powered coated, there are some info and maybe the weight as well on previous page or on the unofficial weight reduction thread. 17~18lb front?, 18.6lb rear

C5 Z06 with Intake/Exhaust vs Supercharged NSX.

I am a safety freak, I have not done something like this for over a year. This is just casual stuff within what I felt is reasonable and had full control.

From a roll, from a dig, samething. The disadvantage he had was traction, even rolling he would spin.

We did 5 runs at owner's request. He stopped taking the videos after the 1st run. I gave him head start on the 2nd run, which was suppose to be our final run as originally suggested. Closer but didn't look good either. Then he requested more runs, so we did 3 more after.

The only close run was from 30~90mph, I was out of my powerband in starting at 30mph (tall 2nd gear), once it reach top of second, easily started to gain. Otherwise closest run of the day. The owner of the Z06 is my friend, so he is also the witness. Now he believes in NSX:smile: .

Originally I gave him a ride to return a favor he did for my friend last time and after I told him there is no way around power to weight ratio, any car with better power to weight ratio is faster than my car, simple as that. Then he asked me to drive him to his house so he could pick up his Z06. I know he was super confident and probably thought it will not even be close.

I also rode in the Z06, the car is pretty comfortable, sitting position is almost like NSX. Great car overall, the powerband is similar to my 335i, hits hard low/mid then drop like rock up top.

Everyone including NSX owners tend to right them off. Jason isn't your car a little more than just a supercharger:wink: I'm an NA guy but you supercharged fellas sure do make it tempting!
