Production V6 doing +200 MPH-- Any other?

The XJ models, at least according to Edmunds, are all V8's and not V6's.

Noble isn't that close and that would include the M400. The gearing is wrong. I know that one of the installers is working on a 200 mph Noble but that includes custom gearing and some engine work, (600+ hp).

Porsches 959 would qualify, I have read reviews from 192mph to 207mph.

Just saw an XJ220 on ebay:

Take a look at that wonderful interior! I would expect a little more at 650K but that is just me!

I had an oportunity to take a ride in an XJ220 and all I can say is stay away from them they are absolute junk!!!
I always hated the interior of the XJ220 but now that I see it again, it reminds me of the interior of a Viper. Similar center tunnel, similar bulbous seats, and overall really ugly (all IMHO). Crazy, anyone who spends that much money on a car should get something that looks a little better.

McLaren F1, Ferrari F40/F50 +++ the interior sucks, but who cares?

Those cars were never meant to give you luxury, but pure performance and function in every part :)

Don't care though, NSX and Carrera GT is all that matters to me :)

I actually like the interiors of those other cars because they are more focused. When you talk about form and function in a Ferrari or a McLaren your expectations are set a certian level. Take the F40. The windows as I recall are Lexan. But that car was a purpose built race-car that happens to be street legal.

Now take the Jaguar. What is your exepctation of a Jaguar? I dare say that most people expect a Jaguar to conform more to the spirit of that company, luxury, refinement, and power, in fairly equal combination. (my interpretation, not another's).

In the similar vane, you would not expect Lotus to build a next generation Esprit with 500 HP and a curb weight of an M5.

Comparing a F40 to the XJ220 is fair in that they are both exotic, but one is executed with a more foucsed intent (the F40/50) and is ultimately a more successful car IMHO.

Sorry to thread-jack. It is an interesting conversation though.

I think the interior on the McLaren F1 is gorgeous, the interior on the F40 is very purpose built and I like it also, I haven't seen the interior on the F50 though.

The interior on the XJ220 is junky it looks like they used the turn signal from a Ford truck, everything is what you would expect in a cheap car.

Next time I hear someone calling my 1992 NSX interior "dated" or "old" I will refer him to the following picture:

This XJ is also a 92. Engine service at $27,000 ?!?!  Holly pistons batman !!!

Personally, the nsx's interior still impresses me everytime I get into one. If I am remembering the right car, I recall the f50's interior being horrible.
