tabasco - Congratulations on the new car! 1,400 miles.. I guess that means it could be anywhere on an arc from FL through TX and through the midwest almost out to the Rockies... Since you are flying down I assume you are driving it home to MD?

That's the picture that sold me on the color. I read Bill and Jackies adventure and spoke to Bill about the color. He said when they first saw the car it was kinda purplish, but once out in the sunlight, it was really an eye catcher. My friend went to inspect the car last night and he said it was the prettiest car he had ever seen. I think it shows its purplish tint under fluorescents, like my red 300zx TT looks orange under these lights.
I will be looking at it prior to purchase. I'll let you know.

I got my Monaco Blue NSX last year without even seeing the car or what the color looks like in person. I went ahead with the blue because I wanted something different. The pictures on brochures and on the web really doesn't do justice to the color. When I took delivery, I wasn't sure about the color because I was expecting a deep/dark blue color. At delivery, the color looked like a lighter blue(weather was overcast & looked like it was going to rain), but by the time I got on the road to drive home, I started liking the color tremendously. Everyone that has seen my car seems to LOVE the color.
The Monaco blue color seems to take different characteristics depending on different lighting situation. Overcast days seem to have a lighter bluish-purple color and on sunny days and in low light situations is when the color really stands out. You get the bright blue that you saw on during Bill & Jackie's trip.
Only sad thing is that after I got my NSX, another person in the same city(almost the same neighborhood even!) got the exact color after about a month later.
Let me see if I can post some pics in different lighting situations. Ps. Congrats!!!

Ok. This is my first time posting pics, so I hope this works. As you can see, these 3 pics all have a different color characteristic. For some reason, it's hard to show the purplish color in pictures.
Pic1: color is same as the one taken from Bill & Jackie's trip
Pic2: low light
Pic3: this is a pic someone else took of their nsx in direct sunlight

Is it possible that the third picture is of a 1997-99 NSX-T that was Monte Carlo Blue Pearl, not Monaco Blue Pearl? It certainly looks that way in the photo. (The Monte Carlo Blue Pearl is slightly darker than the Monaco Blue Pearl and doesn't have any purple in it.)
TABASCO, have no fear! Monaco Blue is a spectacular color. I am super stubborn when it comes to "loud" colors, and I swore I would buy only red or white. Then I saw Monaco Blue at the dealer. I just hope you like being the center of attention -- everyone seems to love the color. I, personally, could do without the attention my car gets. Walk naked down a crowded street and you'll draw similar attention.
JOHNDOE is exactly right; the color takes on different shades in different light. It's not really "purple" though, I would better describe it as violet blue or periwinkle blue in certain light, which, incidentally, is the best of the many hues the car takes on. The color you saw in NAZI's link, as well at the first of Johndoe's pictures, is pretty close to what the car looks like in diffused light. I posted a picture of mine in the photo gallery under the post titled "tester". Take a look at it there for a slightly different perspective.
NSXTASY, I think you are right, the third picture is of Monte Carlo Blue, which is darker, and perhaps slightly less pearlescent than Monaco Blue.
Thanks, we would love to. The only thing I know for sure is that we will arrive at FLL on May 3 at 10:00 a.m. We have friends there and plan on dinner with them that night. Then we will spend the night there and leave for our trip mid-morning Fri the 4th.
Maybe you could tell us which Marriott Court Yard would be the best to stay. My wife works for Marriott HQ and gets great rates. Our friend lives in West Palm Beach so any Courtyard around that general area would be great.
We plan to layover in Savannah, GA on the first night out. Do you think this is doable, we would like to leisurely drive up the east coast of FL, maybe on RT1? I'm a little ignorant of Florida roads, I usually fly in to a city and never go far from it.
