Problem With Flashing Foot Light

Hi Guys,

I am having a problem with my foot light. I can't seem to be able to figure it out.

It's been awhile since the foot light has come on. It doesn't come on when the door is opened. The rest of the lights in the car function normally.

Today, I replaced the door lights, the doom lights, the trunk light, and the rear license lights with the bulbs bought from Superbrightleds.com. All of a sudden, my foot light starts to act funny.

The foot light still does not come on when the door is opened. However, if the parking light/headlight is turned on, and when the door is opened, the foot light flashes non-stop!

Could someone please offer some advise?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bad switch or a bad ground. By foot light do you mean the light that illuminates the footwell when you open the door? If so, you may have to remove the inner door panel and check the connections on the switches in there.

Very simple - the plugs for the footwell light & the chime module are reversed.

(Bad design on Honda part to allow these plugs to be interchangable - they are identified as different colours but there's nothing to prevent you mixing them up & physically connecting them into the wrong device)

The simple way to get the correct match (if I have it the right way round!) is that only one pair is colour matched - I think the grey plug fits into grey socket which is the light and the blue is the chime.
I may have those backwards as I'm going from memory but the colour match premise is valid regardless of which colour/module it applies to.

Bump for the people who have the problem now..had the problem for years but never really looked into it until I met another NSXer asking why it was flashing..haha  thanks for the info D'Ecosse!
