I want to start this review by thanking Mark at Pride. He has been excellent to work with the entire time. Very good guy. Excellent communication. I highly recommend him. Mark was leaving for vacation the next day when we talked, but he made sure to get the exhaust packed up that night because he knew I wanted it for Friday. Again, great guy!

Now to the exhaust.

Bad news first. It does drone. It isn't bad, but it is right around 2300-2700. Not as bad as the GT Lightweight -- but nothing is. Hopefully over time it will quiet down a litte. If it didn't do this, it would easily be the best exhaust I have ever heard.

The Good.
Everything else!!!

The Fitment is excellent. It was very simple to install. It took my about an hour and half to get my old exhaust off, and 20 minutes to put the pride on.
I know there were fitment issues with the earlier exhausts, but I can tell you this one is great. See the pix.

The Sounds is awesome. From outside the car it sounds really great, inside it sounds good, but not near as loud as outside. In fact, cruising on the interstate it is near stock sounding at 3,000 RPM. Very nice. It is not obnoxious in any way.

The exhaust looks great also. Nice Tips, great size. It looks tough on the car.

I think I weighed it about 28 lbs, not bad at all.

So enough of my yapping, check out the pix and the videos. The videos are not great as my wife recorded them the wrong way with her iPhone 4, but you are watching for the sound anyway.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

Again, thanks to Mark. Great stuff!

Great review. Love the Sound!!

I have the Pride V2 also bit as a quad tip. I am extremely happy with and will happily recommend it to anyone looking for a sport exhaust. Mark is a very nice guy and gives great service You will not be disappointed.

I purchased a Pride Exhaust V2 from Mark and I am very happy with the exhaust quality and I definitely got my moneys worth.

Exhaust is quiet on idle as I wanted, but as soon as you thump it, it lets out a high pitch exhaust note and the higher rpm, the higher the exhaust note.

Performance wise, I had a BackYard Special Exhaust and I noticed the Pride V2 exhaust has less restriction and it definitely is a tad more responsive.

Great communication as he kept me inform with the exhaust he had in stock and the shipout date etc. and he also made the effort to shop around for the best shipping price from the US > Australia

Packaging and shipping were spot on and secure.

Thanks Mark A++

Highly recommended

I placed my order tonight. I ordered the v2 with titanium tips. Just wondering, does the drone show up with cats? I left my cats on and was hoping for no drone but no big deal. I currently have the taitec jgtc parallel exhaust and it drones horribly. I also have the short gears so cruising on the highway, I'll be right in the drone range.... Thanks.

I have cats and it does drone. Your car might be different. Wait and see. Everything else about the exhaust is awesome

Drone occurs when you have a particular frequency resonating with the vehicles structure or the cabin volume.

In this case, there isn't sufficient muffler volume or overall exhaust volume reduction to keep the problem "drone" frequency low enough that it doesn't excite the cabin resonance.

From this exhaust design, it's hard to tell what would cause the drone. A sure way to get rid of the drone is put resonators off each cylinder bank like this:
attachment.php

However, that adds a lot of weight and takes even more space. Maybe it is just the free-flowing portion that bypasses the canister... In that case, you would only need one resonator like this:
attachment.php

?

Dave

One way to narrow down where the drone is coming from is to ask the vendor if the one for sale in the classifieds (It doesn't have the pretzel portion and was probably a prototype) drones or not. If it does then you know the "pretzel" portion is not what's causing the drone.

The quarter wave resonators (what Dave said) is probably your only option to get rid of the drone. You can probably also try two of these inline on each bank. This will get rid of the drone but piping mods will be required and it's expensive since this design will require two.

I purchased the exhaust without the pretzel piping, I'm waiting on some adapter pipes, but I will let you all know know if it drones when its up and running.

I haven't done any experimenting on mine yet. I am going with a CTSC and hi-flo cats. Hopefully that will solve the problem. If not, then I will see what other options there are to remove that drone. It hasn't gotten any better or worse since day one, so what you hear is what you get. The exhaust still sounds incredible at all other RPM and is an incredible deal compared to what else is out there for this kind of sound.

No drone on my setup. Stock cats, and Cantrell AIS and also have the NSX-R engine cover and not stock clam shell cover.
I read a thread on Prime that removing the cover will reduce the drone.

"It does drone. It isn't bad, but it is right around 2300-2700."

I drove mine today for the first time since the install and agree that there is a bit of low bass pitched drone in the range mentioned by NetViper. Not as noticeable when the windows are open. Above that, the tone is very pleasant and not really loud, but certainly more exotic sounding than the stock system. I was very happy with it and don't mind it in any range ... just way different than what I was use to compared to 'stock'.

I also agree = Mark is fabulous to work with and couldn't be more responsive to messages.

Excellent experience!

I'm planning to buy a V1 and I don't know if the sound and performance are the same as the V2. I dont know what kind of sound the V1 and V2 makes. Any answers?
Thanks a lot in advance

The difference between our V1 and the V2 are the piping design and piping diameter. Our V2 is about 10-15% even more high pitched than our already high pitched current V1 exhaust. V1 has slightly larger piping diameter and smoother bends than our V2.

Thanks a lot Mark! I bought the V1 from Prospeed and the exhaust sounds great. I do get a lot of drone at low rpm. I don't know why that is. Prospeed also said that you sell headers and in the future I'm for sure gonna buy headers from you mark :). By the way I polished the titanium tip and it seems that the burnt trip are faded. Maybe the product I was using was too strong.

Yes, with the true titanium burnt tips just a simple car wash with water will be good enough. They can't be polished. Since the burnt color is no longer there you can try this to get the color back: http://nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145056 Or send it to me and I'll re-do them for $30 which you can easily do for less.
