i always had entire parts coated- i have a question about masking etc.
how cleanly can powdercoating be 'masked' if you wanted to split it on a polished surface like wheels? are there any little 'fuzzies' on the edge left by tape? or is the tape removed before baking? whats up?

yes you can tape a perfect line with powdercoating...
just use blue painterstape....it is thinner and has a smoother glue....no fuzzy's
1/2 the reason pro powdercoat sticks better is the parts get sandblasted first...
i powder coat stuff A LOT...i have stuff getting done every week... find a small shop...i think my last covers were 10 bucks each.....depends on what color they are using
let me rephrase part of my question- the 'fuzzies' are not necessarily left by tape but sometimes paint/coating just does not separate perfectly- is the tape removed prior or after baking?
Great job and nicely done. Based on the amount of time and money spent on this project, would you do it again yourself? Or pay and get it professionally done for $50-75?
As I enjoy doing it all myself, I'd do it the same way. Sure it might look a little better to pay someone else to do it, but to me that's sort of missing the point.
