About to order some new tires for my Eclipse, figured I'd ping you guys and see what you thought of the Potenza RE71's...

I'm on a tight budget, and tirerack has 'em for $75 a piece, seems like the best tire for that money that I could find. Expecting excellent performance in wet/dry, but not snow...

Anyone have anything to say about these tires?

I used them briefly on my 1991 NSX. They handle fairly well. Performance was similar to Yoko Intermediate. IMO, good tire for the Eclipse if the price is right.

RE-71s were the OEM tire on my 2nd gen RX-7. I liked them a lot. Good handling, good wet traction, fairly quiet and reasonable life. I went through three sets in 120,000 miles.

I used to have them on my 83 Supra and my 88 Integra. I thought they were a great, low cost, semi-performance tire with very good wear characteristics. I kept my Integra aligned even after lowering it, and I got about 35-40K miles out of them. While my 1st Gen Integra would never be considered a tire burner, it handled quite well and I never felt that the tires were ever holding the car back. The only tire I had on the Integra besides the RE71s that I liked as much were Yokohama A008s.
