Post Your 2008 Predictions Here

For the first time in 48 years, a current U.S. Senator will be elected President.

HA! Reminds me of the time when I was at an ultrasound with my wife when she was pregnant with our first child.

Doctor: "It's a boy!"
Wife: "is that 100% certain?"
Doctor: "nothing is ever 100%, but I've never been wrong."

She looks at me seriously and says, "then just to be safe we should tell everyone there's a 50% chance it's a boy".

Me: "we didn't need an ultrasound to be able to tell people that."
Wife: "huh?"

Want to go out a little further on that limb Ken, and pick WHICH senator? :)

I wish that was a joke :). In her defense, she doesn't have that many "blonde moments" as she calls them, but when she does, they're pretty big :). Renee must be pretty close, how psyched are you??? Do you know what you're having?

Girl in 2 months or so. Renee is moving very slow at this point.

- First black president in the history of US.
- Housing stays weak for rest of 08.
- Good entry point to buy an NSX due to weak economy.
- Oil hit $120 per barrel.
- Last year for S2000.
- Acura further delays the new NSX.
- Cash is king in 2008.

The U.S. will have its first bank run in decades. It will probably be some podunk local bank whose auditors refuse to sign off on its rapidly deteriorating financials.

This will be before April 10. It may also cause other bank runs at more reputable banks.

+1 (got the bank run part correct -- Bear Stearns) but was quite wrong about who would be the first to go.

This is what I would have predicted as well, but I'm seeing life in areas that were previously WAY overpriced. Prices in these areas have come down to competitive levels. My cousin handles my RE transactions and he is seeing 6-10 offers on competitive listings now that banks are starting to loosen their grips on properties. My dad, sister and I continuously look at grabbing more rentals, but guess what? We are encountering competition from multiple offers.

I saw a quote the other day from a buyer who kept getting outbid on nice homes: "I guess there is a market out there, but we all want the same darn properties".
