post pics of your X from stock to modified

Check my NSX page (linked in my signature). You'll find pics of it as it progressed from May 1999 - March 2003.

Unfortunately, I haven't worked on that page since then, and I don't have pics of my car in its current state on that page. You can find pics of it now on other parts of my site (like here) or in the NSX Gallery section.

I'd love to post pictures of my car stock, to compare with what it looks like today, but to tell the truth, it doesn't look a whole lot different. Mostly sublte changes with a few JDM touches here and there. Anyway, it was stock for about 3 days before I started taking parts from my dearly departed '91 red, and putting them onto my current car.

No pics with the CTSC yet... :D

Saw that car at NSXPO 2004 and its hotter in person-if thats even possible!!

I need to dig up some pictures of my cars transformation....granted, it is not as extreme as some, but it is still mine.

Well, mine has been through various face lifts over my 12 years of ownership. I couldn't find any digital pictures of the NSX when I purchased it, but it was BONE STOCK.

Here's the earliest digital pictures I could find. Here, it had Eibach springs, 17/18 tires and wheels (had previously had 16/17's but those are on picture prints, too) window tint, headers, etc. and the BEGI TT kit.

Next, it got the wings-west front lip. I think the harness bar and belts went in there sometime, too.

Then it was on to 18/19" HRE's and big brake kit.

Then I did Marga hills skirts, burn up hood, Taitec headlights, burn-up wing, rear big brake kit, etc. etc.,

Now, here's the last pix I can find of the car. Full wide body, race hatch, blah, blah, blah. Currently out at Gerry Johnsons getting a motor build.....I don't think this will ever end.

Somewhere along the way, we purchased this '03 stock and got it to this point:

Anyway, that's my story. Probably will be an NSX owner for life :-P

Ben,

I have always liked those original wheels. Were they Enkei RP01 wheels?? I think that your car is one of the nicest I have ever seen. Does your dad still have his?? If I remember correctly he had a black twin turbo.

Well, I kinda went the reverse route, from a fairly radical kit to (somewhat) conventional WW look. See if you can spot the "original" front end that found its way onto another car in this thread.

Looks a whole lot better on his than it did in the pics below! Check out those Elf Shoe splitters!

The other big change in mine of course is from the Audio/Video set-up but I think that transformation has already been well published seperately in the Stereo Forum.

All of the non-std. mods I can think of right now:
(Some may seem trivial, but if it wasn't OEM I listed it)
Body: WW front Lip; WW skirts; '02+ rear valance; McCulloch HID lights; custom-fit (for sub) Hrant floor-mats; Trunk re-fit (for audio); Window Tint; Themotec Muffler Heat-shield.
Wheels: Work Equip (18/19); Bridgestone S03
Brakes: Cross-Drilled Discs; Painted calipers; SS Brake (& clutch) lines; Speedbleeders.
Suspension: JIC Coilover
Performance; Comptech Headers; Comptech Exhaust; K & N filter; SOS gear-knob with custom shortened lever :D (tongue-in-cheek in the performance category)
Audio: Alpine DVA-7996; Alpine TME-760 Display; Nav Pod; Tru Technology C7; Lotus Reference (Silk tweets); Tru Technology T2-100; Phase-Linear Aliante Si 10" Subwoofer; D'Ecosse custom sub-box; rear-view CCD camera; Optima Yellow Battery; Crimestopper Alarm

Pretty conservative list really & easy to see where I spent most of my time & money! It's still over $15K in h/ware (not counting the OEM front replacement) & countless hours of time invested.

Wish List:
GJTC Turbo kit;
BBK (tbd to fit under my Works)
Ducted Hood
Sparco Milano's
Convertible Body conversion

Hah! Just kidding on that last one!!!!!!!

Meeyatch,

Thanks for the complements, Man.

Those wheels were the Enkei RPO1's that I had polished. I always did like that wheel and often times wish I had kept them around as an extra set of track wheels as they were pretty light.

Dad still has his single turbo that was built by Norwood way back when. It is running a big single turbo with an air/water intercooler. The alcohol injection was taken out years ago since it was featured in Turbo magazine and a bit more conservative tune is in place. Still, it has always been quite a bit stronger than my car. Hopefully GJ can fix that.

Here's an old picture I dug up from a few years ago.

My NSX the day I bought it 3 years ago, 23k miles, missing front lip, partially chromed, partially white 15/16 oem wheels, classic oem exhaust with oval tips.

My approach towards modify the NSX is baby steps, rather than big steps. Which is more costly in the long run, I have learned this the hard way. It does however give me something to look forward to all the time. After a lot of hardwork, passion, patience, love, cash, fun, joy, 7k miles later, this is what she looks like today.

My mods so far:
Cantrell AIS + Uni filter
Taitec GTLW exhaust
Tein S Tech Springs
Bilstein Shocks
NSX center taillight lettering
Comptech Supercharger
Volk Racing LE28N/CE28N wheels
Weight reductions here and there, 100% stock interior

Wish List:
Cantrell Concept Advance Header
AEM EMS fine tuned by Autowave
Comptech Carbon Fiber airbox lid
Carbon Fiber engine strut bar
Lightweight brake rotors
