Porsche Carrera GT - Cool Idea for NSX?

Checkout the HUD display... who thinks this would be a cool in the next NSX? Talk about futuristic...

Spencer just mentioned on another <A HREF="http://www.nsxprime.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/007457.html">post</A> that LCD's can look dated. So naturally the future NSX LCD would be FULLY PROGRAMMABLE... so you could upload your 'look' (so it always looks modern).

We could even have NSXPRIME and MYNSX themes for download.

It's nice, no doubt, but the display probly gets washed out in sunlight. I'll stick to good ol' reliable, mechanical analog gauges

second, Honda would already have thought about sunlight-washout. If u touch the HUD, it flips over to reveal traditional NSX gauges.

Sounds like a great idea that KODIAK has...user-defined "skins" just like some computer applications. Hey I know! One of the options could be a nice hi-res graphical depiction of some tasteful, legible, round, white on black guages...that way future generations of NSX owners could replicate the timeless approach that we have now...instead of some trendy CRAP that will look dated by 2007. HAHA.

SPENCER: u r thinking the same as us... ditto. Honda would just have to resolve the direct-sunlight problem (although in an NSX, which is so low, sunlight would only get in for a period of 3mins

They make displays that are fully readable in direct sunlight. Airplanes that have LCD panels have to be readable in sunlight. I am sure Porsche considered this with their design, I wouldn't be too worried about being able to read the display.

Well, if it comes to fruition there are so many cool things you could do with a digital dash:

-hack into a rival's car and make the speedometer display faster/slower than it's actually going
-play Gran Turismo 3 while parked

-watch porn

-and of course, read NSX Prime from inside your NSX!

I have a HUD in my NSX and it never gets washed out. It is made by Defi and it shows speed,rpm and shift points. Works great in my car.
