Re: What do you think of this design? Polished TBC

I am waiting on the manufacturer, and I just don't have them yet. I am quite frustrated, because I was told I would have them over 2 weeks ago. :frown:

I apologize to all of you for the delay.

Believe me, I will email you know as soon as I have them!

UPDATE 3/23

I am still waiting on the manufacturer, but things look to be nearing completion. I hope, and I stress hope, to ship these next week (fingers crossed).

Again, I am very sorry for the delay. I will keep all parties posted.

Re: What do you think of this design? Polished TBC

They are ready to ship!! FINALLY!!! They will include a stainless allen bolt, to replace the ugly stock bolt, used to hold the plate in place.

I am planning to PM everyone interested.

Re: What do you think of this design? Polished TBC

Hi Warren,

As you probably recall I stated a concern with the clearance on NSX 97+ last week. I thought the issue would be clearing the oem strut bar, but it is acutually related to the throttle body. I checked my car's throttle body, It appears that 97+ cars have another vacum hose that would interfere with the designed plate. I think you would need to include a 22mm-30mm stand off and a longer allen head bolt by 22mm-30mm to solve the problem. Please test the cover plate with a 97+ NSX to verify if my claim proves to be accurate, as I dont have the cover plate and my assumption is based on comparing your pictures to my car (NSX-T 97). I have talken pictures that clearly high light the difference, but I dont know how to post them here. I'd be happy to post the pictues if you/someone can send me how to instructions.

The other option would be to check with the guys who have already purchaed and installed the plate on 3.2 liter engines.

Lastly, I like the cover plate and I'm prepared to send you the check, but I'd like to ask you to verify its application on a 3.2 liter engine first and advise of the outcome. Please hold on to my plate till you have verified it.

Thanks,

Not sure if you are interested, but I have a 91 and have ordered the part for my car. I live in Rancho Santa Margarita and would be happy to let you try mine on your car before you confirm the order. It doesn't solve the fit issue, but would allow you to check the clearance and options directly. I think I should recieve the part soon. I've sent the pay pal, but have not heard if it has shipped. Warren, can you confirm when I should expect the part?

Rick

PM me if your interested...

Hi Warren,

Thanks for mailing me the unit to try out. I needed to add a 14mm stand off to clear the vaccum hose on my 97 (with stock airbox), also needed to use a longer bolt by at least 10mm. I think the addtional vaccum hose is specific to 97 (3.2 Liter) and later.

I think it is best if you would include the metal (Aluminium/steel) stand off and a longer bolt by 10mm, with the unit for 97s and later. The stand off internal diameter should be large enough to clear the hex bolt. The exernal diameter can be 20mm or larger to provide required support for the plate as it will not be sitting on the throttle body.

Thanks

Mine arrived last week. Looks pretty good. Much better than the old TB underneath. I'll post some pics later this week.

BTW, I didn't expect you to include a new allen wrench too! Thanks!
