Please help me say no to a 2005

I see you have decided.

I was gonna say you could buy the new car, swap interiors, then sell the old car.

That's just the kind of insight I need....NOT!

Buy the 05 you will thank me 15 years from now.....Steve

If I could do my Y/Y all over again, I WOULD IN A SECOND.

Yellow is the best external color for an NSX, BY FAR, and I think that if I was looking for a Yellow NSX with a black interior, I would STILL be looking. 5 years later.

But in general, the NSX interior is JUNK anyways, no matter what color. I mean seriously. Pick any car out there from 2005 and compare it to whats inside that 2005 NSX. It is laughable. IMO, the crap interior itself is much more of a complaint than any color it could possibly be. No matter what you do to the car inside, it can only get better.

Not sure what everyone's problem is with the yellow interior...It just makes an already extremely rare car even more so. I think it looks exotic and actually "updates" the overall look of the interior if that makes sense. I like the contrast inside by having the yellow seats and black dash...just my .02 It worked for Ferrari....just saying..

Tbck2793 - your car collection is just sick!

I have to agree that the yellow on yellow is fantastic in person. When I was picking up my ex-91 one of the local NSX primers named Charlie had a gorgeous 03 yellow on yellow. Its simply beautiful in person.

I do think the LBBP/Blue, Yellow/Yellow, and Imola Orange/Orange interiors are quite nice. I'd hit it!

^^^^ Finally, some love for the yellow/yellow!!

One possible reason that the interiors of the NSX didn't change much over the years of production is that the car wasn't making Honda any money. How could they update something that was already costing them more to produce than they were getting out of it.

On the other hand wonder what the interior of the "new" scrapped version of the NSX looked like? Never showed it did they? At least I've never seen anything on it. Road and Track published the first totally unveiled side view of the car I'd ever seen in the little "gone but not forgotten" box in the new car preview issue. Then look at the new Ferarri it looks a lot like one of the concepts of the NSX that could have been.

Now for the record I don't recall a Ferarri with a yellow interior. What model was that? Ferarri has been making yellow cars for a long time and the interiors are tasteful and the yellow/yellow version of the NSX is loud, etc. I don't get it - from a design standpoint I don't know exactly what they were thinking. Surely not something that came from Italy or Germany or Austria, etc.

Oh, and Batman when are you going to sell your parts bin car? Man is there anything about the NSX you like - I don't understand some of your comments - absolutely mystifying. Surely there is something you like about the NSX. Will you still contribute to this site after you sell like some of the people here that have never owned one - lots of mysteries out there????

The general layout of the interior of the NSX is wonderful - you can say that the console should have been updated but the layout is so ergonomically correct that it's hard to beat. There are surely ways to improve the gadgetry and the sound system I'll agree with that. In that respect there are somethings that could be improved but tasteful aftermarket stuff is not easy to find. I"ve seen one that I thought was really nice but not many! Actually I'm really glad I have one - look at how long Porsche continued the general interior of the 911 - it wasn't till the 996 and later models that it was changed much at all. So it's just part of the car and it's layout and the NSX is still in good shape - materials and console excepted.

My 2 cents.

I spoke with Ben in person on this matter:

Just purchased this NSX. Love it. Cd changer missing but dealer will replace.

CONGRATS to you, tootall. And many happy cruises and miles!

2005 NSX are parts bin car.

ugly mitsubishi headlights

chassis flex with the targa off (in other words, targa are useless after-thoughts for the NSX).

Heavier NSX than the NA1

Oh really? Jeez, I've never thought about our '05, or our '04, that way. You must have superior knowledge. I've simply loved them for what they are.

????????????

LOL Neil Batmans only says nice stuff about FD's

LOL You know it's true:biggrin:

And a Z06 to that list
ZR1
Zonda
CCXR
CGT

And any NSX that had their 6" penises upgraded with Viagra, Cialis in a blender (aka- FI)

Must suck not to drive ur NSX year round.

Just imagine using that nice cold air during the winter months...........

You forgot to add GTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, Viagra doesnt add length unfortunately :( Most of us will be stuck with our "measly" 6". No magic pill for that!

The GTO was a given.

My metaphor to viagra and the NSX 6" was that it would improve on delivering performance without adding 2 more cylinders.......

Interesting! I think FI would be more like adding a lot of girth though. Same 6 cylinders, but much more satisfying all around :D I think most X's have no trouble getting up and running, and STAYING running (unlike many FDs... DOH!) which would be more where Viagra would help.

But I think this metaphor may be straying WAY off topic. :D

Hey Guys,

Is the guy that started this thread even reading it anymore? I mean does he still want to be talked out of buying an 05? I was just wondering where the hell he went?

This thread is so far off topic as to make one wonder what it was ever about to begin with? Not that I care particularly obviously people are still having fun with it.

Batman - I was glad to read one of your posts replying to a guy that apparently doesn't get to drive his car in the winter like we do - it was the comment about cold air - which made me realize; hey Batman does drive his ca and like the cold air to make if run like it's on Viagra - just kidding about the V comment - but glad you are driving you car. You know if I was guessing you really do like your NSX! Tell the truth!

Yes, I am still reading. Yes, the thread has gone far afield. Yes, people are having fun so I am still reading it.
I did decide NOT to buy the 05. In a year I think that I will seriously look at a newer coupe (mine is a 91) but the head room and rear vision in a targa were problematic. I think that an 01 coupe might be my next NSX but it'll be a year away at best.
Thanks for all of the on topic comments and thanks for the entertainment of the off topic ones

Trust me. U wouldn't want to run into my FD, even with the amount of miles that I had on it.

When I finally had that car dialed in with the proper mods, ceramic coating and tuning there was no way it was blowing up on street gas.

430rwhp at 2600lbs~ with a 50/50 weight dist. is death to a NSX in NA or CTSC form.

If the FD didn't perform like it did I wouldn't even give it any praises and you would have seen alot less griping and bickering about the NSX mediocre penis size.

But like any WASP male's nightmare about their WASP women tripping and falling on an EBONY ROOSTER, I've had the pleasure of experiencing VERY good performance in all categories.

One of many reasons why California > everything else in the USA.

Cold Air Intake can actually be used and enjoyed in the winter without increasing the value of other NSXs via the laws of supply and demand.

Wait just a minute on the CA > everywhere else - we here in GA drive all year round and our government is still running without IOUs. So some of us would say Atlanta ain't so bad at all. Actually I love Atlanta and no snow and no salt on the roads and mountains and ocean - kind of like a "redneck" version of Cornafornia.
