On my AVIC-960BT, I am unable to confirm (or refuse) the user license. The buttons are inactive. I cannot scroll too. Is it linked to the fact I have not connected the hand brake wire ?

I would post that to a Pioneer forum asylum, you might get a lot more hits. Does the manual say you HAVE to hook it up?

Unless you do a bypass. U have to connect it to the handbrake. Safety issue..
I would check out avic411.com for more help. I used them for my Avic-x920bt issue and updates.

Some unit are easy like yours. Mine, I had to move the mutewire to a different slot in the harness. THEN ground that mute wire. They make it difficult each time it seems like.

Just go to Amazon and search Pioneer parking brake bypass. It's a device you wire in for safety bypass. Less than 20$ I have one on my pioneer and it works well for years.

I have seen those and have used them on other unit. But the bypass on my unit was FREE so I didn't buy anything.

on my 8100nex avic i just grounded the parking brake and did the software bypass. this works with 7100/8100 i know on my 4000nex i had to purchase a bypass. You can buy a bypass for 15 dollars or less on ebay for your specific unit
