The clock, climate control unit, and radio have a thin film of orange plastic that gives the units their color. If you remove this, it turns to bright blue. I imagine a strip of dark tint will give a proper intensity. The individual buttons have little orange bulbs. Those would be very hard to replace, although possible I suppose.

Thanks.. what about the console itself... is it an SOS white gauges with the blue night
tint special? Also what is the typical cost of installation for the SOS gauges..

Chris is correct on the color changing procedure and yes those are SOS white face gauges with blue background. get them changed professionally, they are a pain and break easily. I think SOS does the install for a reasonable fee.
I added a relay to turn my parking lights on with the key(daytime running lights) so the display is the right brightness all of the time. An installer at my stereo shop did the radio console.

Looks very nice. Not too bright which would have made it look very tacky.

One question, any problems reading your instrument panel when you just glance at them? I don't know if it's how you took the pictures but I can't make out the far right and far left of the panel.

no I replaced the two lights in front of the cluster with blue ones and the camera didnt pick up the blue light, but the whole cluster is very visible. only thing that I'm not happy with is how the lighting behind the numbers is brighter in some spots than others. oh well it looks better than orange.IMO

My shop did the same for my car when I took it in a custom stereo instalation. The guy in charge said it was so easy that he did it for free. My only problem is that we did not change the guages out so they have an orange background with blue light cast down on them. Yours looks great though!

One quick question about your stereo. Did the installer at your stereo shop also cut the carbon fiber dash kit in order to fit the aftermarket DVD plaer?

yes he had to cut the carbon fiber kit square, but the dvd is in the stock cassette location. we only filled the lower opening and then cut the hole for the radio. we tried a couple of different ways to arrange it and this looked the most stock to me.
