Honda did such an excellent job with the interior. I had to find a nit to pick.. I wish they would have mounted the ignition switch a bit higher. My keyless entry remote keeps hitting my leg while I'm driving. It's somewhat annoying.. but hey.. if thats the best I can do to find fault.. that's not so bad after all..

I'm curious.. Does it bother anyone else?

It never bothers me until one day one of my freind (from the other country) asks me why I have whole bunch of keys hanging and let 'em rubing the dash.

Then I started realise keyless entry, anything that rubs on anything when the car is in motion.

Before I know it, I now always carry one key just for starting the car. It won't make noise nor touching my knee, and not even rubbing scratching anything at all... and that's 3 years ago.

Just call me Anal.

This minor issue has bugged me too. I found that I could have the best of both worlds by having a quick release on my key chain just for the ignition key. Now my keyless remote, etc., can ride in my pocket or in the center console, and then re-attached upon leaving the car.

I got a pet peeve for you involving the interior!!!!!!!!

How many times have you gotten in your car after it sat in the sun for a little while, gotten on the road, held the shifter and rested your arm on the arm rest, only to have "NSX: DOHC VTEC" burned into your skin?!?!

Horrible location for a METAL/ALUMINUM badge!!!!

Heck, lots of Harley guys have their favored marque tattooed on their arm, why not have a symbol of NSX technology branded on your arm? :p

... Whenever I wear short sleeves, people always ask: "wow~! Do you actually own an NSX??"

"Um ya...how'd you know??"

"Its tattoo'd on your elbow!!!"

Haha, a badge of honor!

Good thread :D

Both of these things have bothered me in the past, and I have also gone the "one key route" to prevent the excessive, uh, dangling

Not to mention the DOHC branding of the arm.

The only other minor gripe I have about the interior (and it's mainly minor because it doesn't directly affect me at all 99.9% of the time), is why the passenger legroom is so limited? I have never poked around to see what prevented Honda from adding a few more inches of room for the shotgun seat, but I have had the misfortune of sitting there a few times, and it's amazingly cramped.

Perhaps some higher-up at Honda got burned too cause they deleted it in later models

Exactly.

I too have them problem...

I also use the single key approach. It's a must for the track.

I keep the keyless entry fob/master key in my pocket, and use the Valet key all the time. (It's always nice to carry a spare.)

Edit Edit: It looks like I stutter stutter when typing. :D But I'm a nice nice guy. :D

I do the exact same thing, use my valet key. The keyless remote keeps tapping on my knee.

My pet peeve is I can't find the damn ign. hole at night. Then I saw a video showing an NSX with a light ring around the key hole!!!! What the hell, my 1998 doesn't have that. Is it only on the older ones, or is a "Japan only" goodie??

My 91 has the keyhole light. Maybe check a bulb or a fuse? I don't think Honda would delete this feature on later models.

I believe it was deleted in the 97+ cars to make room for the key antennea when they went to the RFID immobilizer feature where RF transmission takes place between the key and a built-in antennea. If any of you use wireless proximity card to access doors in your building, your using the same principle.

EWWWWWWWW you let someone else drive your car?? Or do you sit there when cleaining it? ;) I've let my g/f drive my car before and my ex girlfriend one time cuz i was too drunk :)

Anyways, the reason for lack of legroom: our subwoofer.

I learn something new here everyday... ;)

I think the location of the "NSX DOHC VTEC" badge was just a marketing gimmic to brand all NSX owners! :D

You guys in the south have it made, with the dohc tatto.
Here in the great white north when you rest your arm on that badge it gets stuck there.
Its like licking a metal pole with your tonge when its below zero out. :D

The remote drives me nuts too. I flip the remote up to the left of the ignition. When it falls down in the summer and the window is down, I am always startled into thinking it is a bee that just flew in. Deathly allergic.

I'm annoyed by the dangling keys on my knee too....

another one that bothers me a little, is that initial few minute warm up time before the RPM's let you go above 7000 (or so)

I don't remember my 93 nsx ever engaging the rev limiter at 7000. Usually when I leave work I have to zip across traffic to make a left, and I always forget its going to cut off power.

was that a change from earlier models? (I presently have a 98)
