Painted coolant bottle

I think I'll start with the red vacuum hoses on the throttle body to match the valve covers. Thanks for everyone's comment.

Just a normal flat black paint. Post some pics when you're done.

Anyways, is there any special procedure or particular series of steps to removing the coolant tank & detaching the hoses/clips?

I got some extra haut pink/fuscia enamel and gun-metal paint, though I haven't decided which to go w/ to give my coolant-bottle a splash of flavor...

Re: order to removing hoses/clips?

^ That doesn't make it better

Hey, to each his own...no doubt. Ketchup and Mustard though just is tough to swallow. The Zanardi has a hint....the NSX has a full dose.....it's alot.

choices...

Oh, I'm in no argument! I'm hardcore ol' skool... my NSX is black on black, w/ what's not black is soon to be black...

Just as you said, everyone has their own fancy/preference.

VampNsx,

I think I would have liked the covers to be at least blue, like the air filter. But you will definitely get second looks. When you have a Nsx, most owners want you to take a second look anyway, and say what was that.

I did not do blue because I wanted a little color. I love the way it looks every on that see it in person likes it alot. Like I always say a stock NSX is not good enough for me.

I love my car cause even in a sea or NSX's my NSX will be one of the ones that always stands out. Plus it does not hurt that I always have a hot chick with me when I am driving. maybe they are looking at her and i always think its the car. I have bin living a lie all this time. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

no just take it out and put somthing like a big Cup and a towel under the bottle so the coolent does not get all over. its very easy. took me like 10 minute or less to take it out. but make sure you tape all the places that paint should not go into.

Personally, i think the blue nsx with the red engine components looks good how it is..... i would leave it as is ( just my preference). it sets out the engine compartmen very nicely already, and too much of a color can wash it out. contrast is nice too, and red and black look nice together.

as far as "ricing out" a car goes.... i think it's all conditional. it's just a matter of determining when your car looks like/is a sack of poo. clashing colors, bright/unnatural interior colors, etc (would you put a bright red or bright yellow couch in your living room?) and on that note, i'm sorry.... but wood trim that is obviously plastic looks like crap..... in a car or out of a car, plastic wood looks bad, unnatural, and cheap. stuff's 80's style. i'd rather have wood paneling in my house than a plastic wood dash in my nsx (or any other car). if it were real wood, i'm sure it could look decent if done right.... but still..... in a car.... ehh, i duno.

HUGE wings don't look good unless on a full out race car. it just doesn't look right. why does your dodge neon need a wing like that if your car still has 12in of ground clearance? (that, and it's a neon..... it doesn't look right stock let alone with a wing.)

cars can look nice "riced out"..... i saw a totally custom prelude the other day. looked really nice. everything was really nicely done on it. nothing crazy, but i guess it did have some typical "rice" components.... either way, there is a way to do it well and there is a way to do it not so well.

all in all, if you enjoy it..... regarless of what anybody (including myself) says.... do what suits you; that's all that really matters. if everybody for some odd reason thought my nsx was a piece of crap car (maybe at a ferrari meet or something)..... i don't care, i like it.

True Synthesis. The reason why I got my valve covers and bottle painted was because the covers black paint was peeling off and my newly bought coolant bottle was turning yellow under the sun so I've decided to get it painted ala NSX-R. Yes if I ever wanted to put a GT wing the car must be in full set up (lowered, proper wheels, new exhaust). Otherwise it won't look complete hence ricing up the look of the car.

Wrinkle black, 3 medium coats and dry with hair drier for a good wrinkle.

I like the wrinkle black, Where did you get the paint? ie. home depot, pep boys......? Also the coolant cap where did you find that?

The paint was at one of the major part stores, I can't remember which one. I made the cap but you can buy one from Dali for like $20.
