Painted coolant bottle

Since I removed the engine cover the only thing that I don't like about it is the milk bottle. It's the cheapest mod I have done ($20 and a litre of coolant). Free installation. I got the bottle painted flat black.

Thanks. It's the same shop I send the bottle to get painted. I think I've paid $200 plus installation. The paint code is Scuderia Red (Ferrari colour).

Looks nice. Who did the valve covers?

Looks great! For others who might be thinking of doing this ... I think on a previous thread someone suggested running a 1/4-3/8" vertical piece of tape on one side before painting so that you can still easily tell what the coolant level is.

Coolant bottle definitely looks better black. One other recommendation to help set the engine off. Blud Vacuum Hoses. One of our customers has it on his NSX. He has a Black NSX though, but still looks nice.

LOL, I meant Blue Vacuum Hoses.

Sounds like my car, Oster...

 LOL, I am talking about your car. Your car was the first I had ever seen with Blue vacuum hoses, or just colored hoses for that fact.
It would definitely make this guys eng bay stand out and look nicer. You should send him some pics of yours, so hee can get a idea of how it will look.

oh, please no! don't put colored vacuum hoses on, it makes it look cheap. that's a total ricer mod, not to mention it looks stupid. the engine bay looks great like it is.

Mine was originally red. Previous owner painted the car black without painting the engine bay (lazy bastard). I got the car painted LBBP. Then I decided to remove the engine cover (save my 4$$ when the coolant hose burst). I did DIY paint on the engine bay ending with a very bad smudge. Sent the car to a paint shop the very next day. That's when I had the valve cover painted too. Just recently I had the milk bottle painted. It looks better now. I'm still looking where I could find some red rubber tubing for some of the upper hoses to match the valve covers.

I'm a little miffed by something. Did you repaint the car a different color from factory?
The engine bay is all black is why I ask.

So is lowering my car, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket wheels, and CAI, all of which are mods popular with the tuner crowd, and all of which I have. My car is HARDLY riced!

I have a polished engine bay with five blue vacuum hoses, and a matching accented blue engine plate.

Hmmm, maybe I should put some bright neon lights on the bottom of the car (sarcastic tone). LOL!

lowering, aftermarket exhausts, wheels and a CAI all can actually help the performance. if done tastefully it can also help out the already beautiful car cosmetically.

blinging out your valve covers and putting colored vacuum hoses on your car looks cheap, no matter what someone says (the only people that think it's cool are 18 year olds, and 40+ dudes who want to think they're 18). unfourtantly the popular opinion around here would probably agree with you, but like i said, 40+ :P

Majority Wins, PLEASE post pics of car with red vacuum hoses, after hoses installed.
I'm mid Thirties thank you. It's nice to see someone who is proud of their car and wants it to customize it to look the way they want it. BJORN I'm sure your NSX looks nice also.

oh, i'm all for doing whatever you want, it's your (or his) car. just stating my opinion that it looks cheap when you put cheap, colored hoses on your car. i guess i'm just a strict proponent of function over fashion.

on a side note, go ahead and slap some neon, a giant wing, and some bright ass headlight bulbs (not real HID's) on there and complete the whole package while you're at it.

so what if he puts expensive colored hoses on his car, would that be better? When an opinion is scathing and a put down, they are better kept to yourself. At least that's how it pretty much works on this site. You seem very anti-ricer, which is fine, but comments like that are better kept to the ricer forums!!

I'm sure you could have come up with a better way of saying it wasn't your taste.... or not said anything at all. Thank you.

Oster,

This guy (bjorn156) is clueless about my car, and he assumes my car is "cheaply done and riced". I laughed out loud at his comments, as I am sure you did when you read it, considering you are the only person that repairs my car. You know my car as well as anyone...

Maybe this guy should strip his car of paint, for the car wouldn't rust. He is clearly in favor of "function over fashion", as he stated. The paint on the car is clearly "fashion", and probably adds quite a bit of weight. Removal of the paint might improve "function". I doubt anyone would confuss a stripped NSX with the ricer look either.

He is clearly new to this site, and his grammar and punctuation indicate a great deal. He's probably not even a NSX owner, but probably owns a nice Civic with EXPENSIVE black vacuum hoses. Even if he does own a NSX, he surely doesn't know the polite tendencies of this site, and respect passed on by most members. He'll learn.

Here's my riced out car:

grammer and punctuation? ha, i'm not writing a novel buddy, i'm posting on a web forum :P if you would like, to satisfy your appearance (or lack thereof) of intelligence, i'll start using proper grammar and punctuation.

I wasn't inferring anything toward your car. Your NSX is beautiful, and tastefully modified. I was only pleading with the poster to keep his clean, simple, and tasteful engine bay as it is. If you noticed, I posted nothing about painting his coolant bottle, or his valve covers, both of which could be considered a "ricer" mod (both of which coincidentally look factory).

I also respect everyone's opinion, but sometimes it gets a bit aggravating when someone with such a nice car has a total lapse in taste and does something like stick colored hoses on his/her car (again, my opinion). I'm not one for the whole 'circle-jerk' mentality that so commonly happens on these sites, sorry.

I thought on an open discussion board, that opinions were welcome, but I guess the contrary is true. My apologies to the origional poster for trying to save an otherwise beautiful car.

On a side note, I drive a black BMW X5. I've also had plenty of Hondas as they are great cars (and great track cars), and I've driven plenty of NSX'S, but no, I haven't owned an NSX as of yet (soon).
