Paintballers?

Hey, congratulations! You guys shot 26,000 paintballs?! You paint-wh0res! :D I hope you had sponsers paying for that.

Thanks Neo......

My team has no sponsers...(soon to be looking when we get better and have a few more tournys under our belt) we are a fairly new team (3 months old).. The field where we play, the owner really loves to see young players play, have fun, and develope as players. He really tries not to set paint prices too high for team practices as well for tournys..

Each case of paint was $80 CND for Diablo Formula 13...This paint is an extremely good paint, shot straight and never "chopped" in my gun....

What I found was that the top 6 teams all shot about 12 - 15 cases of paint to make it to where they were.

Played in a local tourny today...tourny lasted 12 hours ....

my team shot 13 cases of paint (2000/case) over a span of 11 games..(8 prelims, 2 semi finals, 1 final) each game was alotted a maximum of 5 minutes or whichever team hung the flag first (5 man speed ball format) We finished 4th over all in our rookie division...(3rd place after prelims, 4th place in semi, 4th place after the finals)

haha wow that is a lot of paint. I think we usually went through a little over a case per person (5man). I don't remember how many games we played though. Congrats on placing, how many teams were in your division?

Sponsors are definetly a plus. A paint sponsor is probably the best. Even though the gun manufacturer we had was a good deal, that was just a one time buy, paint adds up. I'd make a good video of your team, make a write up of what your team is all about and send some videos out to sponsors. I was lucky to get on a team that was sponsored by quite a few companies before we started playing anything. Someone started a paintball club up at my university so hopefully i will be getting in some playing time. I need to run home and get my cocker someday..

played in another local tourny rookie division with each rookie playing against a nov team in round robin play..

my team as usual starts off real slow then we pick it up

prelims 4-2-1 sat 3rd (beat the winner of novice class for our novice game)
semi 1-1 sat 3rd
finals 1-1-1 finished 3rd

tourny lasted about 13 hours ..we shot 15 cases of paint (2000 per case ~ 30,000 balls) over 12 games of play..

Far out NCC-1701D, all that paintballing you must be wasted. Any good kill stories you can share with us? ie. get anybody in the back of the head? :D

I just got back into this sport. It had been 15 years since the last time. The guns are INSANE now. Played a couple of times, and enjoyed it so much, I bit the bullet and bought a new Icon. Going out in a couple weeks for another session of pain.

NCC-1701D, nice job. I think I'm getting back into it soon. It's probably been a year since I've last played, I don't even remember. Hopefully I still got it

I'll be the first to admit that my played was medicore.. Took me about 3 games to realize what bunkers were "deathtraps" and which bunkers were the most effective. I mainly concentrated on shooting and locking down what is called the ladder side (this side was the hot spot for double stacking and advancing up the field).

The only real spectatular kill story I had in the tourny was against the novice team we played. Off the start, one of the opposition's player made a bunker on the far left side right at the halfway point of the field (50 L). He was in a serious position to prevent our players from moving up the field and he could take out some of our players. Luckily our back man laid enough paint on him to prevent him from popping up. I shot about 200 balls into what we called Ladder 1 and got the kill. I shot so much paint in there that when the ref went into the check the guy. The ref had to way his arm signalling to me not to shoot anymore. Then I shot a stream to tuck their back man in. Once he tucked in. I went from basically 3 yards from where I started to the the 50 L and shot him 3 times all hitting in his upper back, neck, and head.

I a period of 3 years paintball guns and gear went from insane to OMG !!!!
The lastest craze at my field is the new Ego. gun is light, small, and like other guns OMG fast. It has all the features for adjustments and fine tuning(including PSP ramp mode). For me, I'm waiting for Bob Long to release his Infamous Intimidator.
