P0135 (CEL + TCS) Confirmation

I read through a number of posts on this. I want to confirm my plan is sound.

1. I have a 2000 NSX (47k miles)
2. This code apparently means sensor 1, bank 1. Does this mean the first O2 sensor Pre-Cat. Cheapest I have seen for NGT is $169 each) There are some others for $37 (American motor or something). [summit racing]
3. I considered buying the cheap one just to confirm which one is bad (assuming its Pre-cat which are apparently identical). Just in case one isn't bad.
4. I am also considering just pulling the clock fuse before doing anything. I was messing with exhaust alignment a week or too ago and maybe I knocked on.

Am I directionally correct? Any other thoughts.

I would check that you haven't pinched the wire or disconnected it when working on the exhaust. I would also do a reset by removing the clock fuse to see if it was a fluke or comes back.

From the repair manual

Bank 1 sensor 1= Rear Primary
Bank 1 sensor 2= Rear Seconday
Bank 2 sensor 1= Front Primary
Bank 2 sensor 2= Front Seconday

Front/rear should refer to the side of the engine and primary/secondary should be location (manifold/CAT)

So i would say Bank1 sensor1 is the rear side of engine, the one in the manifold.

Thanks for the info. I checked all the wires. Shook them some but nothing looks broken. I also pulled the clock fuse and both lights went back on after a few seconds. Based on your recommendation I am ordering the rear in the manifold to start. I drove around to warm it up and it seems to drive fine. My car always seems to have a bit of smoke at start up. Can't recall if my 92 was like that.

Question, there are two items that look like a CAT to me. Is it the one closest to the exhaust manifold (engine) or closest. I was under the impression that I was sent the wrong sensor now I am thinking I took the wrong one out possibly.

So.... Apparently you can't educate stupid out of a man...

I pulled the wrong one. Both the sections of that pipe look like a CAT. I am an idiot. Thankfully it is working now (frankly amazing after I beat up the old one and the new one in the process. I didn't realize they had a specialty tool but realized they must after looking at the second one which I could not get to. I just dropped the car and having it warm up now. That was a project in a half changing out. Horribly small place to fit the wires through.

Thanks for all the help. I appear to be good now.
