Need help with the install of the rear sensors after discovering P0141 error on scan. The wire harness connector will not unlock after many tries of pushing in the small clip and pulling and jiggling. Don't want to crack or break the entire assembly. Anyone know if there's a special trick or procedure for dislodging the male/female connectors of the old sensor so that I can proceed with the replacement?

Any related tips or procedures for replacing the sensor would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

get some wd-40 and spray the pigtails and use a push and pull method.

if the o2 sensors are being replaced then, cut the old o2 sensor wires. cut it right at the top of the sensor that should give you like 8-9 inches of play.
do-not cut the part coming from the engine.

and dont let a Pigtail wire get the best of you.!!! LOL

It's easier to disconnect the harness from the metal clip first. Then it is easier to remove seperatet the pigtails from each other.

You have two choices to disconnect the metal clip. You can either remove the bolt that hold the metal clip or you can detach it underneath. I forgot if you push in or out on the center.

if you are unclipping it from the metal clip that bolt onto the valve cover, u want to PULL the tab out and slide it up..pull on the tab hooking into the metal clip..then u can have all the room and time to unplug the harness.

Step 1: Get a good hold on both parts of the connector.
Step 2: PUSH like you are pushing the two parts TOGETHER.
Step 3: Press the lock release.
Step 4: Pull the two parts apart.

What Brad said but when you re-connect them put some dielectric or white lithium grease in the connector before you connect them.
Not WD-40.
