Oxygen Sensor Problem and Replacement

I now have my Competch headers and Tubi exhaust on my 95T. On the way to get them installed my check engine light came on. After a through check I continued and told my mechanic. He said is was an oxygen sensor code. He had a used sensor from a Acura (not NSX) and installed it. Now the light is back on after about 100 miles.

I have several questions:
I have heard several NSX owners tell that they had trouble with O2 sensor after installing headers. Is there a cure?

Are the O2 sensors in the NSX and other Acura's really that much different?

Does anyone know the part numbers for each NSX position of the Acura sensors if they exist?

If going for original NSX replacement sensors what brand has the best track record? Price?

I did a search on past forums and and did not find much information, so I'm sorry if this is covering old territory.

Thanks to all for the help on past posts.
Everyone has been helpful.

prolego,

First thing is that the 1995 NSX is ODBII so you have (4) 02 sensors. So it is important to know which one, although these are basically all the same, with the exception of the wiring length, grommets and possibly connectors. The four 02 sensors on the NSX do not cross reference to any other Acura model, again I beleive this is based on the wiring lengths, etc. Since these are near the exhaust, the wiring must be routed carefully for obvious reasons.

So all and all I think you need the proper versions. I suggest you check out some of the NSXCA discount dealers like Niello Acura, www.Hondacuraworld.com, Gunn Acura, to name a few and get some pricing.

Thanks len3.8. You are correct. I called Acura and they said I just need to make an appointment. It is covered under an extended warranty. That was music to my ears!!

Thanks
