Hello all,
These are pics that I took of John McCains tranny job. During the final part of the install of the diff, I did lapse a little with taking pics, but it slipped my mind. I had my mind on the job instead of the pics. Oh well. But you get the idea of what goes on during the install here. It's kinda hard to take pics of everything that goes on. I didn't take pics of the measurments between gears and synchros, but again, you get the idea.
Big thanks to John for letting me work on his baby, it was a strong car before the new diff, ( 4.40 r/p comes with it ).
Just a note for all the guys who install one of these on their car, if you have a sensor for your diff speed, you'll need to space the pick up away from the case a little if the ring gear doesn't have an indention for the pickup like the stock ring gear does. Ask me how I know.
Also, Exedy is working on making their clutch a little more user friendly after my phone call to them. They apparently had no idea that there were two different throw out bearings in NSX's and that the later model flywheel bolts were longer. Now they know.
The throw out bearing fits VERY tight in the pressure plate. You have to actually pull it through the fingers with a bearing puller. Again...ask me how I know.
Thanks for the pics post John,
Thaks for the props Johnny!
