Oil Pressure Gauge Reads Low at Idle - OK?

The oil pressure gauge on my 1991 reads at the first low mark when at idle and then goes to midway (about 40) when at speed (the temp gauge holds steady at midway after it warms up, which is good). Do any of you have the specs on what the oil pressures should be at idle and at speed.
Appreciate the input as always!

Do a search. This has come up 100x before.

Oil pressure sender... first try spraying some contact cleaner in the clip that connects to it. If that doesn't work (sometimes it does), then replace the sender. $200 for the part.

First low mark?

The gauge reads in kg per square cm, so you mean about 4 kg/sq cm?

That sounds about right for normal operation at speed.

The first low mark being 1 kg/sq cm?

I tend to get around 1.5-2 kg/sq cm when warm at idle, so it might be reading low ( do the sender fix-it ) or may actually be low.

What's your oil level?

My oil level is at the "high" mark, so that's fine.

I thought in the USA the gauge readings were in PSI, so the kg/sq cm makes me feel better. My gauge has 3 slash marks then at the 4th has the number 40, 3 more slash marks and then the number 80 at top.

I will check the connector from the sending unit and then replace the unit if it doesn't help.

Once again I thank you all for your inputs!

Correction:

I get 2-3 at idle, not 1.5-2 kg/sq cm as previously stated.

Glad everything worked out!

My rx7 guage did the same thing and the sending unit had gone bad. Now my nsx is starting the same shit lol. Gonna try cleaning it first. I'm fairly certain the unit failed seeing as occasionally it reads 0 at idle but the engine is obviously running and the dummy light remains off... then it will flick back to about 1.5 to 2.0kg/cm. Ugh lol
