I feel my stock clutch slipping just a bit when I dump into 2nd.

The Acura dealership is rather close to my house, but I wanted to double check if there was a better place to take it to in Denver that NSXPrime members prefer here in Denver.

How much should I expect to pay?

Appreciate the info, again.

Autowave in Huntington Beach. Or contact John Martin I believe he's at Cerritos Acura.

The NSX is in Denver now.

I would take it to Ramone if I was in CA.

Looks like I will be taking it to the Acura dealership on Monday. Hope they have a loner car.

Was hoping to save some money by buying my own OEM clutch and have an Acura tech not at Acura do the work.

I need a new gasket and CV joint or boot so might as well go to the dealership. Hope prices are reasonable.

Many people in the metro area seem very happy with Chris at Flatirons Acura in Boulder. I don't know how many NSXs Mile High Acura (the dealership I assume you're referencing as close to you) services or how good they are.

Get the Acura dealership parts dept' to price-match Dali Racing's OEM clutch-kit w/ throw-out bearing ($1125'ish + s/h). Labor will be $700-$800. Possibly you might need to change the pilot-bearing, $150-$175'ish (Dali's kit includes it, dealer's might not!). Then there's M.T. fluid ($20'ish), state sales tax ($xxx?), and misc. shop fees ($30-$40'ish). So anticipate $2300-$2400'ish when all is said and done... :(

CV-joint estimate was $1300, they wouldn't just replace the boot ($150-$200 job using a repacking kit & labor involved).

This is based on my experience last month!

Pikes Peak Acura, probably the most highly trained and knowledgable NSX certified techs and folks anywhere in the surround states. Apparently an Acura dealership owner in denver area has his NSX serviced by PP Acura. They have lots of NSX time under the wrench. Top 2 guys there I believe are Paul Zmudsky and Brian..... forgot his name, but works in parts. They did ALOT of NSX CTSCs there too.

In some areas, there are independent mechanics with a lot of NSX experience. In other areas (including my own), the mechanics with NSX experience are all at certain Acura dealerships.

Also, many independents charge significantly lower labor rates than dealerships, but again, there are some where the labor rates are as much as at the dealers, or close to it.

I'm more than willing to have a competent independent mechanic without a lot of NSX experience change the oil, brakes, and tires on my NSX. When it comes to a clutch or timing belt, or problem resolution, I go where the experience is.

Shop around.

I heard that Courtesy Acura in Littleton was pretty good. The member I bought my car from had it serviced there regularly, including a clutch.

Mile Acura Won't Price Match and Prices are As Follows

This is what Mile High Acura next to my house quoted me:

Clutch 1475
Bearings 175
MT Fluid like Osirir said 40
Labor $1200
Shop Misc Fees:?

Total Bill almost 3000

Should I wait and shop around. Appreciate the Denver guys chiming in where they take their cars.

Thanks guys.

Not everyone closely monitors Prime. You might try the NSXCO list if you want more responses from local folks.

Went with Exedy HyperSingle. Thanks for all the info guys.

Hey guys, after much shopping I went with Exedy's Hyper Single with the thoughts of possibly doing forced induction down the road. Hutch seems to really like the CTSC on Jason's car and he is going to help pay for it, which is fine by me.

I'll let you know how it works out when it is installed. It is being shipped out today and should be here by the end of the week.

Racing Trenz, owner Yee formerly owned a 91 NSX as well, agreed to install it at $650, so I'll install it over there.

What MT fluids do you guys use, I will have to buy that on my own.

Thanks.

Redline MTL and Synchromesh seem to be popular. Do a prime search for these and you'll find LOTS of info & opinions.

Sounds fair.

Honda MTF. In the past, I've also tried synthetic motor oil and Redline MTL, but didn't notice any difference, one way or the other.

Thanks guys for info. Thought I'd share the deal I got as I think its a pretty good deal.

The Exedy Hyper Single 6 puch Clutch was $1100 and handles twice the amount of torque. This is a good deal that I got that I thought I should share for the rest. You can purchase these from Gripforce in CA.

Stick-e-rice, If you find a place that gives you a good deal on the install, let me know. I might be doing mine soon to.

Do you know who bought that one? I went and looked at it too when I was shopping. Think the new owner should know something an excited fan of the nsx and street racer told me about that particular nsx when I was out in colorado. Nothing bad, just undisclosed information about the car "IF" it's the same one....

I don't know who bought the car. Although the car was a low mileage 91, the paint and interior were in very poor condition.

A person who takes care of his interior and exterior would more than likely take care of the mechanical stuff as well, so I shyed from that car when I was looking for one.

Car was an ivory and had ripped door panels with about 30 something K miles.

Found an installer for $450. PM me for my phone number. He's a friend of mine and I've hooked him up with some food a couple times so he is going to do the install for me. They work on strictly Hondas and have done NSXes before.

This price was a friend price though, but I will double check with him if he would do it for other people at that price.

Yeah, it was rather rough. Hard to believe the miles were as low as advertised when the rest of it looking like it was ran through a landfill. Mechanically is where I most concerned.

I can not agree more. Loving owner = well cared car.

Exedy Hyper Single $1100
Looking for CTSC $? used or new; put offer in for a used one from Queenlives in Silicon Valley
Clutch and CTSC installation $600 for CTSC and $400 for clutch but from a friend who I have been feeding some good food and drinks from the restaurant

I hope he takes the offer so I can get this done with. I'm tired of getting tailed by the STi's and Evo's.
