I have two old clutches from my 91 ( # 3 is in the car now)

I'd like to see if I can salvage/rebuild at least one of the old units

I'm sure some of you have done this.

I'd appreciate some guidance and direction on what to do to see if the parts are salvageable etc.

Thnaks

Being in SoCal you have many quality shops who can do clutch work
We have fewer options here so may have to do more myself

Why did you do a Tilton flywheel
Was your old one warped,cracked?

Where did you source your bearings and disks?

Thanks
Jim

JD,
Any ACURA parts dealer can get the clutch disks for you. I was quoted around $220 US for each disk and around $70 US for the T/O bearing.

I am getting ready to drop my tranny and will inspect my clutch then. I picked up two new disks a year or so ago and will use them if need be. I think that reusing the pressure plate and mid plate should be fine as long as their surfaces are not scored from a worn out clutch disk. I picked up a used JUN flywheel and had it surfaced, so will not reuse the stock flywheel.

You can call my parts guy Norm Reeves Acura/Honda in Temecula, CA at 951-491-2340 or 888-236-5839 be sure to ask for Mike Cobian. IF YOU DON'T YOU MAY NOT LIKE THE PRICE YOU GET QUOTED!!!

^ sourced the OEM parts through my local acura dealer.
in the end, i'll save a few hundred over a new clutch.
new anywhere from 1100 to 1300.
just need everything to be resurfaced and balance and in they go.

the stock flywheel is just super heavy.
i bought the tilton flywheel long ago because it was supposed to be the best,
from what i hear from the cool guys. i guess it's so good, Detlef calls it the NSX-R flywheel.
i figure i'd prepare for when i need a new clutch, and now it's time.
got it from dali.

something either broke or gave inside my clutch.
it's stil holding power but wont release anymore. im hoping its just maybe the clutch release bearing and not the fork.

I suspect you have a broken spring tang from your clutch disk jammed in place. This is a pretty common failure.
