well i finally joined the ranks with you guys. bought a 95 blk/blk. during the PPI the nsx tech said the computer code showed an oxygen sensor code. he said that this is most likely that the air coming out (?) of the engine does not meet environmental standards and has nothing to do with the engine itself. he said that this is no major concern so i bought it. the previous owner said that the check engine light will come on and off now and again. at the 60k service nothing needed replacing other than the usual and the nsx tech that worked on it confirmed this for me prior to purchasing the vehicle. now with all that said, do you guys have any insight to better gas, gas additives, engine cleaners, etc that i may try in order to stop this from happening? oh yes and it does have an after market air filter (ken i think) instead of the honda nsx filter-may make a difference? the car is otherwise completely stock. thanks for the great website and everyone's knowledge.

ps. i would like to get the HID light kit as well. anyone know if they are still making this kit.
thanks joe

Your car has a 150K mile emissions warranty on the cats and the 02 sensors. They should be replaced at no charge. If you are getting a CEL, something needs attention. If you are getting a P0420 or P0430 the cats need replacing. If you get a 02 sensor code(I do not recall the code) they need looking at.

Larry is correct - look here and then make an appointment with a good dealer to get it done.
Print out the TSB and take it with you when you go. I just got a reminder in the mail on mine (also a '95) so Acura is standing behind this and not trying to hide from it.

thanks, the code is PO155. i am going to get it looked at. anyone know what this code may mean? thanks again, joe

The P0155 code is: "Front Primary HO2S Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)"

Most likely you will need to replace your 02 sensor on the front header before the catalyst. There is a test procedure to determine if the 02 sensor is bad or if it is a wiring issue, probably the former. The 02 sensor has a heater coil inside to heat it up quickly when cold. The ECU is telling you this heater is not functioning properly, therefore increasing emissions when the car is cold. That is why the 150K emissions warranty should apply here:).

For future reference, all the codes are listed here:
