2002 NSXPO Adventure
WOW… what an impressive event.
-Nice Hotel (****)
-Good parking facilities (Safe and reserved for NSXPO)
-Good Food (I’m an admitted picky eater)
-Unexpected Giveaways (Chair, Wine, T-Shirt, Bag, Pens, Hats, Chemicals, Polo style shirt, Poster)
-Mostly free drinks (beer was good)
-Police motorcycle and helicopter escort (I could here local businesses bleeding in on our radios. Some thought it was some kind of police chase others thought it was a bunch of rich guys in Corvettes)
-Cool drag strip if front of the hotel (from what I observed)
-Cool organized indoor go-cart event (exclusive NSXPO event)
-The Stock Yard was interesting (Some of us came back here for dinner on Saturday)
-Great people (A good place to put a face to a name)
-A Big Thank You to Goodson Acura (They brought two lifts, an air compressor, wheel balancer, tire changer, numerous other tools, and a parts truck to all three of the track events. They had as many as 7 mechanics working on our cars for free… and if we needed parts that we didn’t already have, they gave us a 25% discount.) Thanks Susan
-Interesting seminars (I came with a list of questions)
-Awesome variety of cars (A great place to see what you want to buy)
-Motorsport Ranch (exclusive NSXPO event) Awesome road course for a first timer, or for someone who wants to test the limits of their car or themselves. Very technical, and very safe. (Good spinouts, with no damage or injuries)
-Great Hot Lap session that was held during Saturday’s lunch by a non-NSXCA organization. (Did I get that right?)
-Did I mention that Maria H. wears the driving-pants in the family (I’m not sure I’m going to go into detail)
-Texas Motor Speedway (exclusive NSXPO event) another awesome event. I personally like the challenges of Motorsport Ranch better, but as it was explained in our riders meeting “ Every one needs to experience high banks sometime in their lives”.
-Garage Pits (It was cool to utilize the same pit stalls as the famous racers we know)
-Thank you to the Corner Workers of both tracks
-One of the most notable things I observed was excellent organization. A lot of planning and effort was put into this event for it to have been pulled off so smoothly. I’ve been a part of numerous high dollar events, that don’t pack this many features so seamlessly.
-Thank You to Everyone who helped make this event happen!
I felt sad to go, and look forward to next year.
