NSXCessive’s ’91 Project "Sliding Knife" Build:

Looking great Richie...need's some Wheels and you are good to go....got to bring it to Est Fest 2013

Bram

Well I might have a dilemma.. which one do I drive the '91 Magnum or '00 Berlina? lol

Is there a reason for keeping the early model rear valence?

I might change it up the rear valence later down the line. But I do have a WingsWest TypeII kit lying around I might slap back on which does change up the rear a bit.

A Bit of Mid Winter Update:

Some New Parts Showed up from SOS:

Tada SOS Endura Lite Exhaust! I actually plan on installing this on my '00 NSX-T SOS S/C freeing up the restrictive flow from Ark DT-X and swapping that over to this Project build after all its NA with Stage1 mods anyway.

Anyone have some pointers on polishing Stainless? Didn't realize only the tips are polished on the SOS Endura, I'd like to polish the canister since its visible from the rear of the car.

Back at the Bodyshop some more finishing touches wet sanded, polished, and waxed up refitted some pannels for better fit. Got the pro to help me on this one love the way the paint work came out much deeper looking and so shiny.

I was planning on driving it home but Mother Natue decided to dump about 15cm down on us within a few hours. Shes all straped down on the Flatbed for the ride home:

Im really liking the color. What color is that btw?

looking great! love that front lip.

Thank you Sir, yes it changes the front end look quite a bit. It might be old but I still like the look of the WW kit.

 You brought this car a long long way! Looks stunning in the pictures. Keep up the great work.

Great work!!

Keep it coming! I love this thread! Great work!

Thanks Guys My original mission was to restore it back to pristine conditon. Its been a long road seems never ending at times still have the entire interrior to deal with.

Im really liking the color. What color is that btw?

Its UK/Japan market '97+ NSX colour NH-604P - Magnum Gray Pearl... Now there at least 2 painted this colour in NA that I know of? ;) lol

Usually hate the ww side skirts, but you made them look/fit great.

Good job

Thanks man I had them reinforced the length of the skirts with Aluminum 'L' channel riveted to the urethane to keep it from sagging like it did on my old car. I still have to make a couple tie brackets for each side to ridgley attached it to the body of the car I don't trust the fender liners alone to hold them in place.

Love the WW kit, your car look's great! Was everything easy to fit?

Thanks its coming along nicely! I couldn't believe how strong the urethane used in the WW kit was. I originally had it painted Berlina Black hardest part was removing the Berlina paint, had them soda blasted and refinished in Magnum then reinforced the sides with aluminum channel. Fitment was pretty good a lot easier to install at eye/chest level thanks to the use of the shop's frame machine. ;)

You guys must know spring is in the air here now. Finally! I got some small things done moving forward.

So what happens when you have 3 NSX's parked in the driveway?... Everything is done x 3 lol Got back some freshly powdercoated battery tie downs. All 3 turn out great, one had some slight pitting but its liveable.

stupid question, the splats can't be drilled thru + body cheese and then painted over to guarantee it from falling off?

Hey Richie,

The gap on the left side front fender is ~.0005 mm out.....need to get that that fix-up:eek:

Looks great man

Bram

Oh man you got a real keen eye there! lol

Acutually there were 2 small holes drilled when this was on my old car there is a very tiny area on the WW piece where you can pass a screw through and secured it with an OEM spring clip. But while they were in getting refinsihed my Body Guy filled them in lol I'm going to use a thin bead of windshield urethane on it I'm positive it wont fall off again, otherwise it will be taking the paint off with it this time.

Wheni ihad the WW kit, i drilled holes in the rear spat, they hold quite a bit of water after washing the car.

I think Myw meant to help secure them to the OEM valance.

But yes I have 9/16 hole drilled from about 9yrs ago for water drainage lol Once in a while I'd have to reach in there and pull all the nasty road grime out. I think need to glue a piece of mesh in there to help drain the water out because if a rock blocks the hold it fills up with water.

I guess time for a Mid-Summer update... still working away on her in my spare time:

Some more parts arrived... Which door emblem do you like best? Starting to love the gray one we'll see what it will look like on the car soon enough.

Broke down and bought the tool for bleeding the ABS, even though I already over haulded the ABS and its working like new again. Will keep on the maintence of bleeding it system every 2yrs to keep it from gunking up again.

Both cars look great!

Couple of questions I'm sorry if I missed in your thread.

-What exhaust does your 00 have? That sits just perfect IMO
-What rotors did you go with on your 91?

Your nsxs look incredible !!! Now which one is your 3rd? I see the black 2002+ converted as well as the magnum!

Thanks...

I've got an ARK DT-X Quad Tip on my '00 with custom modified fiber glassed '02 rear valence. I spent a lot of time making it look and sit right. Now thinking of changing the exhaust out for something more free flowing. I decided to keep the SOS Endura lite on my '91 for now, might move it to the '00 later.

The rotors on the '91 are from Cquence.net which are the Street Series Ultimate Drilled and Slotted Zinc coated silver and I paired with AEM made by Nissin same manufacture as OEM these pads slightly more aggressive than OEM. I also have a set of Cquence rotors on my daily driver '05 TL CT-E S/C's paired with their posi quiet ceramic pads been using for ~2 years and about 20k+ kms on them and they have been great no warping no noise still stops amazing only beef I have is the silver Zinc coating is starting to wear off now damn Canadian Winter road salt. Cquence uses Centric blanks and then drills and slot them with their own design which as far as I knew they were also similar if not the same Centric blanks used by PowerSlot and Stoptech.

Your nsxs look incredible !!! Now which one is your 3rd? I see the black 2002+ converted as well as the magnum!

Thanks man I see you have switch vehicles yourself... hows the 911? I have a little problem when I leave the house as to which NSX do I take when I leave the house? I think I've driven the '00 about 6-7 times this year its become a garage queen. There is a 3rd NSX not seen in my pics my Bro's '91 Red NSX and the 4th parts car around the side of the house I used to build the Magnum lol. I'll have to do a mini-shoot of the NSX's in my driveway one of these days... lol
