NSX vs Trans Am

Short vid of a Trans Am trying to stay with a NSX through a big corner. This video was taken with a Funsaver (low quality). This was at the begining of an Exotic car drive. Some Vipers, Z06, Lotus, and Ferraris were stuck behind the Pontiac. :frown: The Pontiac had a LT1 Small block aluminum headed engine that produces 325hp. With the mods he had it was closer to 350hp.
Later on in the drive a Cobra tried to join the pack with similar results. ( I am not bashing Mustangs since I use to have a 5.0 and loved it). This short vid just shows the challenge muscle cars have with curves in the road.

I think the TA couldn't keep up on the curve because he followed the dumbass across the double yellow. In doing so, he found himself starring at a pickup truck and he probably had to pucker-up his anus. Hence the reason why he fell back so far, not for the reason stated by the OP.

Yeah, no fun on the crossing the center divider in turns. Kills the rush of cornering. Even in the sportbike days, it was annoying that some of the riders would "think" they're "fast" when they're cutting over in every corner. Keep it in your lane, now that adds to the challenge.

Not that I condone it, but YOU CAN SEE AROUND THE CORNER; and it wasn't that close at all. He's done the corner and back in his lane before he's even close to the oncoming traffic.

Until he spins out and collides with an on coming van with a family inside. Then he'll be posting that he is going to jail instead of a new racing video.

It's just as "dangerous". A car, stopped in the middle of two lanes for a picture!?! What if a van with 14 kids in it just happened along out of nowhere and slammed into it!?! It'll never happen, since they can probably see what's going on and there's nobody coming.

Was it smart? No, not really; the lines are there for a reason. Was it as stupid and dangerous as people are making it out to be? No.

I saw nothing wrong with the video. I live out in the country. That road looks like the roads we drive. Many times you can see through the corner, knowing nobody is coming and just take the best line through the turn. Everyone out here crosses the center lane every day in every type of vehicle as long as nobody is coming.

Seeing how close you were to the oncoming truck (whether you can see it or not is not the issue) the trans am behind you would not have been able to cut the corner as you did without having the truck be really pissed off..or perhaps killing some people.

The trans am did the right thing and slowed down for the corner since it saw that it couldn't make the same move as you without endangering people. You're statement is incorrect and rather lame.

So this short vid actually shows how you can dust your buddies by cutting a corner and stuffing them into oncoming traffic. Awesome.

but i agree, you can see through the turn, and you can safely cut the corner. (although, i wouldn't cut the corner unless i saw that nobody was coming at all)
