I would drive the 95 for 30 minutes and it would shut down . Frustrating !!!! They sent there tech from Atlanta and claim to have reparied the car but to no avail. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LOTUS PRODUCT EVER AGAIN. On that note, I have also owned a 92 348 f car and a 355. both proved to be wonderful cars with the exception of the $3000.00 tune ups and $2,500 belt change and so on. But hey, I knew going in that there was a price to ride thse beautiful ladies. I now own a 02 nsx and appreciate its simplicity and funcionality. If you've never owned an F car, go for it there is nothing like it.
think i saw you in your 02 nsx tonight on west charlston, figures im in the suv when i spot ya, anyways great looking car, i had to go home and pull the car out for a drive.

Ferrari means racing. The "mystic" of the marque derives from that heritage.

I found the 328 to be a disappointing driving experience. Major faults have already been noted... driving position, gated shifter (take it or leave it), understeer that gives a "plow" feeling.

I opted for a deposit on a 91 nsx instead of buying a 328gts. I have never looked back at Ferrari. Which reminds me of a story...

Last May during the jazz festival in New Orleans, I'm driving down St. Charles Street. Out of the corner of my eye, I catch a glimpse of a silver vehicle that my mind screams "McLaren." I bounce over a curb and park. My angle of view is bad as I approach the car. My heart starts to pound. Then...

"Shit, its only a Ferrari" (a 360).

I got back in my ML, found a good place for supper, and reconciled my disappointment with some nice ladies at the bar.

Well, no one can say that you don't love your NSX, nsxman! I have to admit, though, I don't think I could say that and really mean it. No matter what, I love the Ferraris no matter what I choose.

I appreciate everyone's discussion on this. The thread has certainly taken a life of its own. After really thinking about it, I'm leaning towards the NSX. Both are great, but the reliability and "more miles of driving between wallet-deflating services" are winning me out - all other items being equal. Besides, I can always pick up a 328 in a few years and have both!!!!! :-)

A “great” car? Well, “great” is a matter of opinion. Most of the Ferrari owners I know would disagree with you. “As fast as the NSX”? Definitely, decidedly not, according to the magazine tests. Heck, even the more-powerful 348 which succeeded the 328 was significantly slower than the NSX; it only managed 6.0 seconds in 0-60 testing (Road & Track, September 1990), which is slower than any published test of an NSX, even the ones with automatic transmissions.

I think the biggest difference between the NSX and the Italian exotics is that I have yet to hear a single instance of a snobbish NSX owner going around a Lambo or Ferrari forum telling lies and talking smack.

If i wanted something fast from 0 to 60 i would go out and get a motor cycle.
The 308/328 is a great car it was one of ferraris best selling cars and an icon of the free spending 1980s. As fast as the nsx mabyee not in your magazine but i have driven both they are prety comparable cars if your shopping for an exotic in that price range and abilty . As for the 348 it is not the car that turened ferrari around like you said that car did not sell well at all.

I think the biggest difference between the
NSX and the Italian exitocs is that THER ARE GUYS WHO READ ABOUT THOSE CARS AND THERE ARE GUYS WHO GET OUT THERE AND DRIVE THEM!!
wich one would you want to get advice from?

Alright Allen ,now I've heard just about enough outa' you...LOL
Although I respect your opinion,when MYNSX is done (2 more stages)front splitter,rear diffuser,supercharger.
Then wide body.
Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, and IMO Ive got "exactly" what I want with 10 times the presence than most Ferraris.

PS that was very funny FERARRI,FERARRI,FERARRI!!!LOL
You guys started to sound like children fighting in a school yard.

Now as for your Lambo that takes the prize!!
Although I would like a Mclaren
I know (YUCK)

Talk to ya' soon bud..

yes, your nsx would definately take the cake over a ferrari 328. but we're talking stock against stock. because ive seen a 328 with a koenig wide body kit on it, twin turboed to 600hp and it was amazing! besides that, havent you been asking me to find you a 348 or 328? lol.

holy cow!! now this is a thread! i go to tuscon for a week and look what i miss!

i've never owned a ferrari. but i did do research on a variety of exotics.

the best source of information for me was the opinions of exotic car dealers. i happened to know one, and 'interviewed' others.

i 'expected' the dealers to steer me towards the more expensive porcshes, ferraris, etc. but every dealer said if it were their money theyd buy the nsx. they all cited performance and reliability as the reasons. two of these dealers didnt even have nsx's available. one of the dealers even stated that the ferraris build quality was really inconsistent, the tolerances inconsistent from car to car, and they had a lot of customers come back to them to retrade.

so, for me, if exotic dealers kept recommending the nsx even though they could make more money selling me a ferrari, well, seemed pretty unbiased to me.

good luck.

no regrets in kc

I've driven them. In fact, the F355 was the most NSX-like car I've driven (unlike the NA Porsche 911, which is similar in performance numbers but dissimilar in character). The 328 is to the F355 as the '84 CRX is to the NSX. The CRX was a fun car in 1984, but now that the NSX exists, there is just no comparison between the two.

LOL! I'm going to tell everyone now that my CRX is just like a Ferrari 328, relatively speaking.

hell no!

seriously - if i had the money i wouldnt buy a Ferrari, the modena being the exception and mb the V12 roadster (looks like an S2000)

i like to have something in the realm of Super car but also be aboe to drive it everyday/park it/go over speed humps/not cost me the national debt to upkeep.

i think the NSX has held well to the test of time.

Sorry to go off-topic here, but that reminded me of a pretty funny Australian story. My old roommate had a friend from there that would come by every now and then. He told us about a job interview he had there a while back.

They asked him if he had a criminal record.
He replied "What? I didn't know it was still required!" LOL

Needless to say, he didn't get the job.

Yes I've seen that car too your speaking of and yep I'm a 348 fan (kinda'like a nimbler version of the testarossa) I just really like their look over most F cars exept possibly the F-50 that is a gnarly car.

I love the looks of most F cars especially the challenge cars etc.If it's exteme I'm there.

I'll race you in my NSX against your Lambo and if I lose I get your car ..OK :)

Great then when the flag drops or light turn green I'll either sit there or slam it in reverse and "lose" and you can deliver the car to Chandleri'LL E-MAIL YOU THE ADDRESS)if you dont mind.Theres a third spot in the driveway for it and please fill it w/ some race fuel from Saad Saads Mobil on the run in Awatukee "before you do the drop".
I'll be busy stripping it down to paint it "SCREAMING YELLOW" so call the taxi to take you home.I dont need the neihbors worried that theres some "LAMBO-LESS" vagrant in my driveway so please be respectful of that...
