NSX vs Eclipse

don't know if that's you or not. congrats if it is, and no offense, but... why? You're SUPPOSED to beat an Eclipse! You're driving a mid-engined exotic sportscar! If you can't beat an eclipse, you shouldn't even be driving it. And seriously, what do you have to gain by beating an eclipse? NOTHING! Nobody cares because it's expected. What does he have to lose? Nothing because YOU are supposed to win. WHat do you have to lose? EVERYTHING. If you lose, you got beat by an ECLIPSE!

These runs never cease to amaze me. If you're going to put yourself and others at risk, at least do it against something that will give you bragging rights... F430, porsche, Bently GT, M5, hell even a Mustang GT... but an eclipse? Come on! :confused:
 
One thing I've noticed is when I go driving my eclipse I always have people challenging me to race. When I'm in the nsx I get lots of stares but the same people trying to race my eclipse never say a word when im in the nsx

I never street race and iv owned my car for three years. If I did, id make sure it was something worth racing and something worth losing to.
 
Here is the whole video. The Eclipse and the Suburban blew me off the line! My girlfriend and I were trying to get the camera out to get video of some sweet bikes at the intersection when the Eclipse laid down the rubber. I thought he had tuned his Eclipse but I was apparently wrong. Anyways, it was a :biggrin: fun take off that we were laughing about later.
BTW - I didn't realize so many had such passion for the Eclipse!

I also beat a "pimped out" same generation eclipse. . . in my grandfathers 2006 Passat 2.0T.

Drag strips are a lot of fun. You should try it out sometime.

But if you Have To have the rush of street racing, this may also satisfy that hunger:

I didn't know he was racing me at first. See the 2nd video on this thread that shows the full version. Eclipse and the Suburban blew me away at the first stoplight because I was trying to get the camera out for some bikes on the right. When I met him at the next light I told him it would be on camera. You can here us both lay down the rubber.
 
I don't respond to the "street racing is stupid threads" because everything has been said about it. Videos of a NSX vs any sports car interest me. I like the BM videos of the NSX vs audi tt, NissanZ, and so on. We all know the NSX should win vs "lesser cars", but this does not always happen. Many years ago I was in my friends 5.0 and we dragged a NSX 0-60mph and finished a good car length ahead. For many years I thought the NSX was slower than Mustangs.:frown:
 
WOW.... really sumthing to be proud about! Beating a 3G eclipse and a DA Integra with APC lights...

When you watch any pro racing series different teams do better at road courses vs oval tracks. Montoya was an excellent example of this in NASCAR.
