NSX to F40 Conversion

This is not another NSX to F<i>x</i>0 conversion re-re-re-re-post. Note the red body and black roof: it's obviously an NSX inside with an F40 bodykit.


OQQO and I had the privilege of checking out this F40 which was being worked on. It was an incredible experience checking out this supercar in real life; it looked exactly like the 1/24th model i used to have. Also take note of the aftermarket luxuries like the easily-accessible fusebox and drive/passenger carpet!

The most gobsmacking aspect of the F40 was the rear tires... they were <FONT SIZE=+1>ABSOLUTELY HUGE</FONT>.

wow! Did they have before photos? any photo of the engine? Kind'a hard to tell that it used to be an NSX...

I don't agree at all. The roof line isn't the same and the doors have full frame windows. This is not built on an NSX platform IMO. I'd need photos from other angles for feel any different.

From the looks of it, I've a few F40 Diecast. 1/12 Kyosho, 1/18 Bburago... I think the pictures are the real supercar. So what do you mean, nsx to F40 conversion?

he was joking because about once a month, a new user posts a link to a story about an nsx converted to look like an f50... And its the same car every time!
Its pretty much an nsxprime cliche nowadays.
kinda like Zaino v Zymol and Single Samurai

I dont have any before shots but we all know what a F40 looks like; it's nice to see it in a raw state.

Here's a couple more shots. First one you can see the intake on the front which directs air behind the headlight onto the brakes (note: no ferrari badge! ). The 2nd is a close up of the rear spoiler - it had taken a beating! It's not every day you see a F40 that isn't a garage queen!!!

I forgot to mention the last picture in my first post is taken inside the front-left wheel.

The F40 is an awesome car; much better in the <STRIKE>flesh</STRIKE> CF than I imagined it would be. And being able to see behind the wheels & headlights was really interesting -- much more than admiring a perfect red ferrari and saying "wow, thats worth a lot of money". ....but the F40 is still no NSX. lol

This F40 was in the shop to have a rebuild and to be set up for track days .It always delights me to see a car that is used for the purpose for which it was built.....speed !

It would seem a full rebuild is underway and I heard it would again head back to the track in all its glory....not to some showroom or private garage where no one would see it.

I still like my NSX for everyday use....style,performance and comfort.
