NSX stunt gone bad in parking lot

Who caught me on tape?

If you listen closely you can here me saying:
"I think it will work, saw it on a cartoon once"

well looking at the car and studying the distance it traveled relative (used the cars he passed as my basis for distance traveled) to time it seems he was doing about 16 mph in the parking lot.

Average car width I chose as 6 ft. He passed 6 cars from the point where he passes the leftmost wall to the first square looking thing on the ground. Looks like one spot could be empty on the left near the wall located on the left. So I said though would be 7 cars but then the spaces between each car could add up to another car or maybe even two so I just said 8 cars widths. 6x8=48ft and it takes 2 seconds more like 1.75seconds but eh close enough to do that. 24ft/s x 3600s/hour x 1mile/5280ft = 16.36miles/hour

But, coming from a engineer's perspective, each parking space whould be a 9x18 spot. So if he passes 9 ft instead of 6, in effect he should be going about 25mph. Which is decent for a parking lot, but not absurd.

I thought parking spots are like 7 feet wide or 7.5 on average?

Well either way the guys wasn't blazing through a parking lot. I think it was just a blown tire and and unexpected blown tire at that, that caused this very unfortunate loss of a nsx. :(

Also to add that this probably wasn't a stunt if he was indeed trying to do a 180 uturn he would have left tire marks from locking the wheels to do the turn but in the video non are visible.

That must be that undisclosed, previously chopped in half NSX sold by Cantrel to Downforce....lol:biggrin:

Any speed where the driver can lose control of the car and potentially hurt someone in a parking lot is too fast. Imagine your wife or kid stepping out from between cars into the path of that driver! In parking lots one should drive with a lot more caution than shown on that video.

That being said, in the upper left of the frame you can see cars parked next to a pile of what looks like snow. I might speculate that the video was shot in the winter and that the car may have spun on ice.
