NSX sales figures > 1st of April

37 NSX sold in the US in March 2017 vs 69 R8

if no new cars are showing up in the US on Cars.com it just means they are building some ex. US cars

slowest month since August. :frown:

and a steady decline since December, even with Spring now here in North America. and the R8 is still plugging along no worries...

We have not received any NSX's this year. Our first allotment is a April build followed by a May build. My April build is sold but does not show until it is built and delivered. My May build was sold but the owner did not fit and was forced to back out. So far 3 out of our 4 NSX 'S are sold with 2 on the road and 1 driven in Calgary as a daily driver this last winter. Both had zero issues so far.

I would expect the AMG GT to sell in greater numbers than either the R8 or NSX given that it's a lot cheaper.

The NSX numbers for March are not a good sign though. March should be the month where sales start to pick up. If April is bad too, it presages a brutal year 2 for NSX sales.

The question then will be, how will Acura respond to that. Will they look at the decline in sales and dig into why sales fell off faster than expected? Will they be more aggressive with the mid-cycle update as a result? Or will they just shrug their shoulders and declare that the NSX has done its job as a halo car, regardless of the sales? Then I have to wonder what effect it will have on other sporty products in the pipeline.

Maybe next time I see some of the Acura folks I'll take a different tack to asking questions and maybe talk to them a bit about competing products and customer personas to maybe uncover a bit of the thinking that influences the product planning, rather than asking them about a particular product (since they are super cagey about future product).

Based on number of new ones sitting on lot unsold (300!!!), the AMG GT is a failure in the <$200K segment. R8 is also struggling. #sad

When will we start to see the base-spec cars? Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I feel like that's what the majority of buyers are waiting for with the NSX.

looks like you are the new head Honda Fan boy. you're right though, the NSX is going super strong with 35 sales a month and 300 sitting unsold...

p.s. #sad at the end of your statement? are you Donald Trump?

yeah, things are going from bad to worse quickly. numbers should be going up, not down...

apples to apples, first year to market, r8 sold 240 in 2007. nsx sold 269 in 2016. therefore R8 sucks.

so the R8 sold 240 cars in 3 or 4 months, during the slow selling time of year (holidays and winter). you may insert your foot in your mouth now...

They started delivery to the States in September 2007, they were 08 models.

1 (2016) + 5 (2017) cars in Switzerland so far. But this means 'registrated' cars by real buyers AND dealers who offer testdriving. There are cars out there waiting in the showroom with no registration at all.

Audi R8: 30 (2016)
McLaren 675LT: 36 (2016)
Nissan GT-R: 30 (2016)
and finally the very 'rare' 911: 1'096 (2016)
