So, lets see...

New paint and bumpers + shipping

or...

Comptech Supercharger
6-speed upgrade
headers
wheels & tires
ducted hood
nsx-r style spoiler
'02 bumpers & xenons

hmmm... That's a tough call (Especially considering I don't even need new paint)

I did a refresh recently. Got the seats and carpets re-dyed. It's a very cool refresh "programme", and it wasn't that pricey to do either.

haha, ok the price of a complete painting is high enough, a 'basic' refresh is three times the effective costs! So WTF is behind it?

Basic refreshment 367,500 Yen
- Alignment adjustment of suspension
- Valve clearance adjustment of engine
- Seal rubber exchange around the door
- Completion car check with test course

Do they (we) have to finance their retirement?

It's pricey for sure, but you can be assured that it'll be done right, exactly to Honda factory spec, as good as when it was built.

You won't be able to get anywhere near that at your local body shop or Acura dealer. :)

If they're still offering it 20 yrs from now, I'd send my car back to Japan to have it done.

 wow!!! $27,200 US to repaint the car and just replacing bumpers and spoiler.
My 91 with short gears, 4.55 R&P, Comptech headers and exhaust cost less than the refresh program.

do they do anything to the motor with the program.

man atleast throw in an Oil change for $27k

I just thought of it......they actually strip the car down to the chasis and paint it as if it was straight off the factory line. So now that would make more sense of why it costs so much. Very labor intensive so I guess I can see why it costs so much.

Sounds like one of the shops here in OC where they charge 30k to restore cars or paint exotics.

you're getting a lot for that price.

get this, McLaren F1's tuneup-only is $25,000

Well it is a Mclaren, and if you can afford a 1 million dollar plus car then you can afford the tune up.

So yeah I would see the cost as worth it to do if you can afford to do it. Get it back all brand new looking. What was that shops name down here in OC that does work like that? I forgot they are in irvine or tustin somewhere. They do a lot of exotics or classic cars.

Still sounds like a ripoff to me, unless they rebuild the engine too. The paint may be factory flawless, but it'll still end up with scratches in a few years - you could repaint "pretty darn good" 3x as often.

Nevertheless...it is really cool that they stand behind the NSX like that.

Yes it will chip and scratch but the paint will last another 15+ years and be shiny like mine is. But yes I agree it is a lot of $$$$.....and its only for the wealthy to be able to afford. Maybe you do get the motor rebuilt too for the money? Oh wells who cares none of us are going to do it.

This is a refresh program. Comparing the F1's tuneup to this is not fair. I believe the F1's refresh program costs a lot more than this.

It is a great value for the money IF you register your car in Japan.

No, folks the refresh program is a quasi-scam to get past Japanese registration laws. Where registration goes up as the car ages, to the point where it is cheaper to buy a new car than pay the registration for another year.

The refresh program resets the registration back to new car status and start over with much cheaper registration, probably pays off the Refresh Program in the first year.

This is why you see so many Japanese engines for sale...

They should do that around here to get the junk off the road.
