I just installed the NSX-R boot and shift knob. Honda of Japan parts from Dali, too expensive but I couldn't resist of course :D

Car's a lot quicker now

Actually it does feel different because you put your hand flat on top of the ball instead of 'thumb upright' used to grip the handle type shift knob. I prefer the flat palm down hand placement.

I just installed mine too.

Tip: Seth from SOS told me to put a strip of zip tie on the shaft before placing the shift boot on it. That makes the shift boot stay up on the shaft instead of exposing the shaft. Mine looks perfect. Will post pics.

Now you tell me! I don't want to take off the console again so I'll try something on the shaft and pull the boot over it approach.

Looks good! Its get real hot in the summer when the top is off.

LOL! Dali needs to make a TypeR Mesh/CF oven mit that goes over the top during summer months!

:D

was it difficult to remove the console?
TIA

It's fairly easy. The delicate part is getting the clock out first (I used a tape wrapped small screwdriver to pry from the side). The second is the vent assembly, use a credit card from the bottom to release the clips holding the bottom part in place.

Search the FAQ and the Stereo Forum for many replies on the joys of removing the console.

I found that if you press out hard with your fingers on the inside of the clock and pull straight back you can get it out without hurting your car with a screwdriver.

The dash is a 10 min job tops - no fear!

Yep. Did the same thing. Use your fingers, stick them in the display area, push to the sides tightly and pull the assembly out.

Other tip is the electrical part. I got intimidated because I couldn't really see what was going on around the ashtray/fan area because of all the wires and stuff. Truth is, you only have to disconnect two electrical plugs. All of the wiring behind the console are connected to these two plugs.;)
