I wouldn't mind being pulled over by that NSX. I would kick the cop in the shin just so I could get a ride in that NSX. :D

At NSX Fiesta 2002, I asked one of the prominent Japanese NSX Club members about the NSX police car, and the story is that there is 1 NSX police car in Tochigi Prefecture, which was donated by Honda, and used by the highway patrol. The NSX Club guys have never seen it on duty, but they have invited the police to bring the car to NSX Fiesta. Wonder if the police will ever bring it out? Fiesta 2003 maybe? :)

As far as I can remember, San Jose Police had a C4 Corvette a number of years ago, but it was mostly for show. Other than that, CHP has Camaros, but I think that's about as exotic as it gets.

Don't they have exotics in Cali as CHP's also?

When I was younger I always thought they had Lambo's and Ferrari's.

They do...in the video game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 :D

Yeah, lots of Camaro's, Vettes, and early 90's mustangs out there on police forces and state patrols. Dodge Rams and larger SUV's are more prominant these days as well.

Woaw!!! NSX Cop! =D

Cool.... Wow, no... it's very cool!!! = )

we got tons of camaro's in our FHP (florida highway patrol) and i've seen a corvette or two in Coral Springs and a few in West Palm Beach.

I did see a couple interesting things as of late:

A Mitsu. Eclipse COP car...undercover (isn't against policy to have a foreign car represent a gov't agency?!)

A TON of older Bonnevilles, Grand Cherokee's, A plain white v6 camaro, and a few other "normal" cars pulling people over!

It's getting scary out there...i'm afraid to speed!!!

Maybe it just depends on the City. Before out city used to only used RWD cars and cars with V8s or lots of power. The Police also could use their own personal car and fully equipe it for duty if it meet the above. Thus, mostly Mustangs and Camaros and other American cars were used. I believe they did away with that rule as now they pretty much use anything. I've seen Toyota Camery Solaras, Acura TLs, Nissan XTeras, Nissan Altimas. I've also seen them run HID conversion kits on their cars even though that is illegal. Oh, well. Not like they are going to ticket themselves.

Talk about JDM-fuzz...

I thought that was a no-no in Japan?

California Highway Patrol has a Porsche decked out in the black and white look. They show it at random publicity events that the CHP are involved with, though I am not sure if it is actually the property of the CHP or just a privately owned car where the owner is donating time for his car in exchange for all the tickets he has.
