My in-laws are nurses and doctors also, but it's so nice that we have NSX owners who are also physicians!!!

Today my daughter was playing with my parent's dalmation, and for some reason the dalmation nipped at my daughter, and abrased her face with dog teeth.

My parents were extremely concerned, and wanted to take my daughter to a medical clinic for a shot.

I was fairly sure that just using alcohol swabs and then neosporin should more than suffice for treatment. My parents were extremely insistent that my daughter to see a doctor to get a shot.

We had just spent 8 hours in the ER yesterday because of another incident, and the last thing I wanted to do was go back to the ER for a very minor thing.

Anyway, to appease my parents, I got on the phone and called the two best physicans I know for opinions. My parents watched me call peiserg and special k , and calmed down as both of them said to clean it out well and then put neosporin on it. This was a great comfort as we were unable to reach our in-laws.

I'm attaching a photo to show the lightness of the wound.

Speical thanks to peiserg and special k for their assistance!!! Not many people get to call their friends and get great medical advice on a moment's notice!!!

Such is the rewards of NSX ownership...

I have had several dalmations(including one right now) and none of them have liked children. Despite what the cartoon movie would have you to believe they can be very aggressive dogs. Even with that, I love them.
My current dalmation I have had for about 10 years, his name is Whiz(he has no blatter control, never has). We have to watch him very closely when there are children under the age of 5 around him. I think kids' demeanor gets them skitish? sp?
Glad to see it was not serious. Your in-laws sound like my wife

Glad it wasn't more serious.

This has always and continues to amaze me. I am consulted for significant facial trauma from dog vs children at least 2-3 times per month. Story is almost always the same. My dog or my parent's dog or my friend's dog of x number of years has always been great with kids, blah, blah, blah..........

Make a choice..........child or pet..........seems a no brainer to me.

But it is job security.

Can I have your # too?? j/k  (Hmmm, it'd be nice to have physician friends and family in 5 states!)

Yea, that's why we don't have a dog. My parents have had the dalmation for 7 years, so we can't get rid of it just cause we have a new kid. I miss having a lab. Labs are the best.

Oh by the way, I am in the software / accounting (CPA) business. If anyone here needs computer help, or accounting/tax help, I am more than happy to assist. Pay back the community.

I have a nice 2" scar on my hand from one of those dogs. Got it when I was 28 or 29. Just trying to close the gate on the dogs area, and it didn't want me to so it bit me and I pulled my hand out of it's mouth resulting in a nice scar. I punched the dog on top of the head and almost knocked it out and it backed off. Wasn't even my dog, but a relatives. The stupid animal knew me, just didn't want to have that door latched.

Glad to see your daughter didn't get hurt any worse than she did.
