NSX market in Australia

Wow so cheap. I wonder if its in good condition, the motor and all.

I looked at this car for a mate but don't think he's going to move on it so:

It's a HARD TOP manual, BLACK ROOF, grey import. Dealer says it's a 96, which may be accurate but based on experience I would not take the rego sticker as gospel. This car appears to have a passenger airbag, which would make it at least a 94, and I'm sure the Changes By Year article on Prime would confirm exactly what it is.

Sitting inside, the leather and carpet is pretty good, but moving outside the rest looks kinda neglected. The paintwork is not great - lots of stone chips and little scratches, paint is coming off in a couple of places. The roof is dented enough to be noticed, the engine bay is very dirty, engine cover looks extremely tatty. Some little things like the engine bay gas struts need replacing... the overall impression is that the previous owner didn't care much about it. Black roof, manual, aftermarket alarm but no major mods. Needs 4 new tyres to pass roadworthy which they say is not included in the price. ~110,000km. $49,800.

Basically it needs some money spent on it to look nice, but it's a blue manual and they're pretty rare. I only looked briefly and didn't drive, but if anyone is interested in it drop me a line, you can compare it to my car if it helps.

The only "bargain" I see is the Black 94 manual in QLD, which has high km, import markings and no passenger-side airbag that you'd expect on a 94. And an owner on his way to put a brick through my window. So I should add that $45,000 for any manual NSX in good condition really is a bargain, especially if it has the JDM short gears.

A 1997 Silver manual has gone on sale in Tassie. It has bright red seats. I remember about 2 years ago there was a similar car with bright red seats for sale by a dealer (in Sydney I think). Does anyone know if it's the same car?

The Silver/Red is at Tynan's (Sutherland). It was still there last week. I don't think it's seriously "for sale". When I visited about a year ago, the salesman said it was a "director's car"; about $145k. The salesman disappeared; not what you'd call really interested in selling it. From memory; about a 1997 manual. Had obviously been repaired (sink holes in the paint) definitely not concours. But it sits up in the window on the 2nd floor, where everybody going to Wollongong sees it. I think this is what they call a halo car
