NSX Lovefest on M3Forum

Usually, NSX gets a mix of support and inevitable fanboi hateration on M3Forum. But this is all love...

*sorry if repost

I've been all over this thread and vow to keep it going. I know there will be at least 3 converted due to it.

I was actually surprised in regards to the overwhelming support of the NSX on there, normally it's GT3 or GTFO

wow they were nice in that thread , the other thread where someone compared the nsx to e46m3 it was nothing but hate for the nsx and it also went 30+ pages. man m3 forum moves fast:tongue:

It's not that surprising to see nsx hate on a BMW or whatever forums. What's really surprising is seeing nsx hate on the S2000, s2ki forum.

The typical M3Forum guys's plan is M3--> newer M3 --> 911, ideally GT3. It's like a preordained pathway that must not be broken. So it's nice to see some diversity of thought.

I've never been on S2K forums but I figured NSX would be next in line if people are into pathways there too.

people, in general, love the NSX. some are turned off due to its low hp, but are easily converted after a ride. then there are those who i think simply hate out of envy or jealousy. i have asked them why and its like 40 year old virgin where he compares breasts to sandbags. lol.

i have certainly owned cars that are an acquired taste and i can understand some of the hate, but this car has universal appeal. not saying everyone has to like it, but if you truly dislike this car, then you should have a good reason for it.

I have posted in that thread many times. There is a lot of love for the NSX over there and probably some just converting. I frequent both forums and have big love for the e46M and the NSX. IMO, the owner personality type seems to be quite similar; hence the reason some of the M3 members have both cars and I wouldn't be surprised if the some of the members here have M3's.

It's nice to see some of you posting your experiences with the NSX over there in German land.

It should also be mentioned that this was posted in the Off Topic section of the M3 forum. Their are many "car" guys there, not just "BMW" guys.

It's also worth mentioning that the previous NSX thread that was more on a sour note was mainly do to the OP of the thread.

The thread was quite entertaining. I came from m3forum.net and wanted to say welcome because I recognized your alias. So...welcome!!!!!!

It's difficult for me to understand the sour comments because the NSX is a driver's car just like the m. Hence, as car enthusiasts, I would think they'd respect the NSX a bit more.

Everything was fine and nice to read 'till BATMANs posts ,,,, why why?? leave them alone, "NSX towing a real sports car that is 50/50 weight dist and lighter" is that really necessary? argh ....

Couldn't believe that either (they all had done very well to that point, no need to dump on their good work) ???

Thanks for the welcome. Well, I think most people who enjoy the M for what it is would have no reason to dislike the NSX.

You guys are funny. We were doing well, weren't we?

Mr. Wolfe

^^ no they don't. Not really. Say something remotely negative about their mods and you will see how "humorous" they are ;)

Its surprising how much a lovefest its been for the NSX. Any time I mention the GTR, its troll-city with the majority of that forum hanging from Porsche's sack. Either way, great to see the NSX love.

E46 M3 -> NSX for me.

Well, there is a reason for that. The NSX and 911 are the exact opposite of the GTR. There are so many people who think the hatred stems from the Nissan badge and that has NOTHING to do with it.

NSX-GT3

Light - Check (GTR-Heavy weight)
RWD - Check (GTR-AWD)
High revving N/A Engine - Check (GTR-Turbo)
MT - Check (GTR-Automation City)
Great feedback - Check (GTR-Astoundingly numb)
Small, low center of gravity - Check (GTR-Huge, tall, designer wants it to be heavy, his words)
Minimal electronics to aid driver - Check (GTR-)
Usable, proportionate hp - Check (GTR-King of paper)
Attractive, functional design - Check (GTR-)

That's everything that is important to ME in a sports car. The GTR is not one of those. Sorry to go OT, but people crying about the GTR haters need to stop. Some car companies get it and some don't.

I understand that I may be a minority, but don't write off the fact that I have significant reasons to love the e46M, NSX, and GT3 and have a pure hatred for the GTR. It is a super car for the everyday person; also quoted from the designer.

Alright.... my morning is going to get better soon. Sorry for the rant.

Mr. Wolfe

I are with Wolfe.

Lets not even mention that there is nearly a 1000lb difference between the NSX and the arcade car.

arcade or not.......2.9 secs to 60 is pretty amazing......not as a replacement for the NSX but I wouldnt kick one out of the garage......
