I (billy) cleaned it up a bit:

"I was obviously surprised and excited to see the above results, esp as it was a humid 90 and my car had been running hard 15 min before these pulls.

The specifics of the car: 96-t, 46k miles, comptech intake, comptech powertech kit (which is a mild reground cam-port polish of heads). DC; headers, exhaust, no cats. Stock obd-2 ecu. Tranny; short gears, 4.55 rp. Wheels;17x9.5 with 275/40/17 tires.

What I'm impressed with is that the ecu did pretty well with a/f untill near redline when the car starts to lean out. The tuner running the dyno thought that changing to higher rate injectors might help at the top end. Also the gains quoted by CT for this kit are substantiated by these results, and then some. Unfortunately I never dynoed the car before so don't know actual gains, but this is exciting news for those like me who are interested in building NA motors. With earlier ecu's and more aggressive tune plus Higher comp pistons the 3L motors can approach 120hp/L benchmark of the S2000. BTW my car is perfectly streetable and has ~15k miles with the powertec kit."

Honcho,

Do you have stock cats, high-flow cats, or test pipes?

Strong numbers especially in CO altitude (24.66 in-Hg).

Any way you can get the Dynojet Winpep file from the shop who did your dyno? I'd love to overlay it with my car.

They are stock cats. I added it to the list above. I will be re-testing on the same dyno with Pride High-Flow cats (300 cell) and a Fujitsubo Super Ti exhaust. I'll check on the winpep file when I go back. Those numbers are actually sea-level corrected. True whp at 6,000 ft is about 20% lower.

Still not bad with restrictive stock cats. I have similar mods but with no cats, I put down 269whp. I'm eager to see the difference your HFC's make. Please post the results and if you can send me the winpep files of the above runs and your HFC, that would be awesome!

As explained in the MotoIQ article:

The following dyno sheets are comparing a stock intake to a gutted VVIS car, to one with the VVIS plate removed all together:

The above test was conducted by Jon Kuroyama (Fastrax on Prime). Please read the above MotoIQ article for more information.
