Is NSX have it's own special battery?
Will generic battery work or not recommended?
If so which brand and model?
I want to pick one up at Kragen.
Or should I just get one from Niello Acura?
How much is it cost?

Thanks.

No, not special at all. Just make sure you get one that is the same size and + / - terminal location. When I replaced mine I found that the one the dealer stocked was fair priced to the discount stores especially when I asked for my NSXCA discount.

If you're interested in saving even more weight, you can look into the Odyssey battery (formerly called the Black Panther), as described in the NSX FAQ.

I read the techinal alert on their web. Does that mean that you need to drive the NSX for at least 40 minutes to keep the battery fully charged

Learn all about the Odyssey for the NSX and buy it and the custom bracket <a href="http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/other_stuff/odyssey545.cfm?focus=50">here</a></p>

I bought one from Mark almost 5 years ago and it lasted 3 years of short
trip, infrequent use, frequent abuse, and a very cheap charger.  I bought a
replacement 2 years ago and it works flawlessly.  The easiest weight saving
you will ever find.  BTW - we get all 4 seasons here in St. Louis (very hot
summers, very cold winters).  You will want to get a trickle charger if you
don't drive it frequently. </p>

No, not at all. Mine went into my NSX four and a half years ago and I've had no problems, even with short trips.

However, as Nick mentions, some sort of charger is a good idea with any battery if your NSX is going to sit for more than a week at a time.

I replaced my factory Honda battery last month with an Interstate battery.
