Mate of mine just bought himself a 1993 Nissan 180SX, and took me + some other mates for a bit of a spin today.

In my humble opinion, very nice.

I was surprised how similar in appearance it was to the NSX: especially the interior.

It's the type of car that just cries out for some rice. :D

That's called the Nissan 240SX here in the states.

Can you deck one of these and the new NSX2 in louis vuitton colors for us to preview?

thanx for heads-up on the name difference.
anyone else had experience with the 180SX/240SX??? love your thoughts.

louis vuitton colors = what???

Neo,

I just retired my 1990 240SX/180SX with 230,000 miles on the odometer. Needless to say, I put it into REAL good use. I'm only the second owner and drove it for the last 6 years.

I can relate to what you're saying about the similarities with the NSX. I never said it before because I might have been flamed for it. But since you said it first, I'll just hide behind you. ;)

The looks, the feel, the handling, even the reliability are all similar. Not the same, mind you. But very, very similar. I would go far as to say that the 240SX is only a notch or two below the NSX in that respect.

The modifications available to the 240SX is widerange and with the proper installation, it has every potential of becoming a beast. Especially, if you do an engine swap with turbos. Those are illegal here in the States but a lot of owners do them anyway.

If you can't wait for the NSX, get a 240SX/180SX now. If anything, at least it will give you a feel for what you can look forward to in the future with the NSX. :)

My brother bought a rare white '91 240SX coupe in '93. It had a nice interior and was fully loaded with all the toys (moonroof, power everything, heads-up display, etc.) but the electronics started to go a couple of years later (and under 100k mi I believe). It was also an automatic, so he sold it to buy a Nissan truck. I was envious of his 240sx until I got my own sports car. :D

Here's a Skyline powered 180sx. ;)

Whoa, the top pic kinda looks like a Lotus, but the silver car is cool! Very NSX-like, except for the roofline...amazing! Too bad that body styling never made it to production.

That silver car looks like an NSX-lovechild! The side intakes are HUGE -- bigger than the MYNSX. Oh wait... maybe it is an NSX-lovechild then.

Nissan released a 200SX here in Australia, which is very nice; except the engine was toned down when released in Oz. :( There's a business nearby that always has two 200SX's (a blue and a yellow) parked out the front. beautiful to look at when there's no NSX's. :D

We have high end S15's only here in Brunei. They are affordable and so many here to the point that we called them taxi.

Those (200sx in australia, sylvia in japan/europe) only made it here to Canada from
1995 to 1997 and were still badged as the Nissan 240sx. Nice car, and rare here too!

I LOVE those 200sx's. Very simple and classy design.
If they were sold in the US, I'd be pretty tempted to have one as a second car.

- no skyline, no 200sx, what's Nissan's deal? Do they think we hate good cars or something :frown:

oh wait. yeah, americans pretty much only like crap cars.

If nissan had brought those cars, just imagine the import car market today with those cars...Skyline (no the G35 does not count), S15 Silvia (with SR20DET) would of made Nissan more money and more happy customers

haha can i get a Sil-Eighty

Aw look..... A baby NSX!

How cute
