Nicholas421's nsx makes it to the m3 forum

Marv800 is a jackoff. Buy a 348 spend $15k on a 30k mile service for more money, only dirve it once a week if that and that is better. I guess that is why he is driving a mid life crisis wanna be sports sedan.

Second sentence doesnt make you look any better. :(

I have a lot of M3 owners at work and they are annoying, always talking trash.

LOL! Nick actually got on there and replied. And I saw a '97 M3 yesterday going for $10,599. Yet they talk about how valuable their cars are. ??? M3 guys will always lust their cars, NSX guys will always lust our cars. As nature intended it.

those M3 guys seem kind of snobbish. eww....

some people pay cash for brand new NSX's here and aren't asses like that. They need to learn that driving a classy car doesn't make you a classy person.

Beautiful NSX, and if I was in the market for a car at 40K, I'd write u a check tomorrow

You can't blame them. They have virtually no NSX knowledge. For instance:

Looks cool..but would I drop 40k on it...nah...especially not for a 91..TT or not...I would at the very very bare min get a 93 if I had too. 95 would be even better..and 97 would be idea because of the targa top option. I was debating getting a nsx a few years back, but my good friend that is also a Honda tech/nsx fan and owner told me not to get a 91..spend a bit more and get at the bare min a 93

Let them buy 348s. They don't need to like NSXs, anyway :)

NSX are always being talked down by people who have never driven, ride or seen one in real life. Once you own one, then you know the REAL deal. I would just ignore those comments; they don't know what they are talking about. This is called sour-grapes mentality. When I was younger, I thought Madonna was HOT, but I told myself she must be lousy in bed, therefore I should not desire her any longer. Same with the M3 owners.

I know I'm not supposed to post crap, but just last night in a movie theatre parking lot, some dude was raving about my car. At first he thought it was a Ferrari, then was like, "is that an Acura?" Either way, he just kept goin on and on about it.

Nobody here notices M3s. There's a million of 'em.

People on websites dog NSXs. People who've never driven one, sat in one, ridden in one, and don't make enough money to own one. They dog the NSX. Regular people out in the world? I've NEVER once gotten any kind of BS or static from anyone over this car. On paper, it's easy to rag on something, but in person, you have to give respect.

I know and have seen too many really ghetto or classless people who own M3s. They aren't that rare, nor expensive, and BMW depreciation is fairly rough. BMW is the Infiniti of Germany, basically. And, the M3s out there, probably 80% are leases. For a $50k car, you can get a decent lease deal, especially on an older one and a lot of these clowns make an ok paycheck and room with someone, have no real furniture nor assets and spend their largest chunk of discretionary income on a car. They may split $1500/mo on rent and dump $1000/mo into an M3 to front like a big player. And that car lease is literally ALL they have.

On this board, is there anyone who DOESN'T own at least one other car?

Sorry, but M3 to NSX, this is just a different class of people here.

Having been on the owners end of the NSX and M3, and having had to live with the 348 and its headaches for about 6 months, I can confirm several of the comments on here.

When I had my M3 it seemed like most of the owners I met were really quite snobbish, and were exceptionally arrogant to seemingly everyone else at the car events I would see them at. The really odd thing was that there was even snobbery towards other M3 owners!! My M3 was stock, and these guys would look down on me because my car was stock and theirs had $10,000 in Dinan parts. Not a very friendly group overall. :(

As for the 348....well, lets just say that I bet that marv guy in the BMW thread has never had to deal with how much of a pain in the butt these cars are. In 6 months I was left on the side of the road with a breakdown TWICE IN THE SAME WEEK, had both window motors fail, went through two alternators, and had numerous other problems that left the car either undrivable or needing attention. Keep in mind that this was with a car that had about 6,700 miles when purchased and had all maintenance done. The car was a freaking nightmare and I refused to drive it more than 75 miles from home because I just did not feel safe doing so, or feel confident that it would get me back home. The people who say that is part of owning the car either have never owned one, hence do not know how much of a pain in the a$$ it is, or have so much money that they do not care since they never drive the car anyway. I would not touch anything before the F355 or 360 in terms of even being remotely reliable as a regular driver.

My NSX.....reliable all the time, and most owners have been quite nice to me. Every group has its bad apples, but overall it has been a much better crowd than the M3 people. Plus, I would hop into my NSX today and drive across country and back and feel totally comfortable in knowing the car can make it.

Just my two cents... ;)

They're just jealous that they don't have one in their garage. Also, they're probably the ones who hate every Japanese cars out there. Put a Ford or European badge on the car, they'll be googling and gaggling all over it.

I used to own a M3...the keyword is USED TO. I'll take the NSX over the M3 anyday. However, i"ll take the M5 since it's less common out there :)

I've worked on alot of m3's and I am an m3 guy and I'm not a dick....so lets just say those m3 dicks not..all m3 guys are dicks.. feel me.

I have to agree with you guys, the M3 forums is extremely immature. But in the defense of some of the members over there, there are admirers of the NSX that know a great car  .

P.S.

I kick myself everyday for trading in my NSX :frown:

I'm sorry but imo that statement is just as ignorant as those made by the bmw guys. For your information there are (roughly) 15k M3's in the US which would make it a somewhat exclusive car like the NSX. They also hold their resale value pretty (well maybe not as well as the NSX) but still good enough.

As to the performance department, I can say hands down a M3 will demolish a 91-96 NSX no problems stock v stock. The M3 is a extremely well balanced car that has exceptional handling, that imo is a close second to the NSX. I've read threads of NSX owners talking about passing so and so car and i've read M3 owners talking about the same thing. Doesn't prove anything except that the indvidual driver most likey was better than those they past.

Also, BMW's aren't that expensive? I'm sorry, but you must be some sort of multi millionaire for making that statement. A fully loaded M3 will cost you about 60k + tax& license.

I'll end my rant there.

And before people start flaming me, Just know this, I LOVE THE NSX and read my above post.

Can't people just admit that both the NSX and M3 are great fun to drive?? I loved my '99 M3, but hated the fact it was always in the shop. We figure my car was a lemon of sorts, but when it was running it was a blast. My M3 was the only other car besides my NSX's that I would have kept forever and drove every day....if it did not have all those problems.

(Q4) How many M3s with S54 engines in total were sold in the US?
(A4) Approximately 28,600 M3s with S54 engines have been sold in the US to date.

Makes it a bad car huh.

No, just not as exclusive as the NSX, and those numbers are for the E46 M3 sold from 2001-2005.

Add another 40,000 E30 and E36 M3s sold in the US, and the exclusive label is even more strained, when compared to roughly 9000 NSXs in the US 1991-2005.

As for the demolish comment by NsSeX, I disagree. Having driven an E46 M3 back to back with my NSX (and on other occasions), the cars are very close in performance. And while driving school comparisons are not perfect, I have tracked my NSX at a number of BMW CCA events over the years and in the company of a variety of drivers and the NSX has held its own against the E46 M3.

Like many people here, I am also a BMW nut, a former/future owner, and a BMW CCA member for several years. That we decry ignorance from over-zealous M3 owners does not diminish what a fine car the M3 is in its own right.

Geez! Can't we all just agree that we are all car people and we all have different tastes for different reasons. I have owned BMWs too - nice cars, drive fine, handle fine. I do not believe they maintain their value as well as the NSX, but they are still nice cars.

Will "demolish"?? Huh? Stock to stock? What kinda stuff you on? The hyperbole is nuts w/ M3ers.

No, most BMWs are not that expensive, M3 included.

I don't know, but in my book a car that can beat another by about 1/2 a second in the 1/4 mile run is pretty solid. The average 1/4 for the M3 is about 13.2 (some quicker some tad slower). The average for the 91-96 nsx's are bout 13.6 that is without taking into consideration 100-150mph runs. Also the M3 brakes grab so much better than the NSX's. The one major complaint I had when I owned my NSX was that the brakes felt like they didn't have enough stopping power.

I don't dispute that the NSX is a great car nor am I saying the M3 is a better car than the NSX. The NSX is a true sports car where as the M3 is a GT two totally different cars. Why owners of both cars feel that they have to defend and prove their cars is beyond me, just enjoy your damn cars and leave it be for crying out loud.

Also I did over do it with the "demolish" statment for that I apologize, but facts are a stock e46 M3 will hands down beat a 91-96 for sure. Argue all you want but the numbers speak for themselves.

I personally believe if you want to compare #'s compare a 97+ coupe v M3
