NextGen NSX Competitor

Unattractive design, but very nice exhaust note.

"You might think that Mercedes wouldn’t have a need for developing yet another supercar, but you’d be wrong: With the 612-bhp SL65 AMG on the one hand and the 626-bhp SLR on the other, there’s hardly any room for a car in between. That is if you’re taking performance alone. But as design and packaging matter, too, the Stuttgart-based firm is in fact thinking about a “baby” McLaren offering SLR-like supercar-feeling at the cost (and power) of an SL55. With a newly developed 5-litre V8 performing some 400 bhp, this light-weight mini-SLR will reach top-speeds of beyond the latest SL65 and will outrun the latter from 0 to 100 km/h. Being a pure two-seater with a rigid metal roof (rather than a 2+2-seater roadster like the SL), the “baby” McLaren will point at a totally different range of customers and will certainly be a success as an uncompromising driver’s car."

 coolest looking Merc I've seen ever!!! I don't like the look of the long nosed McLaren they have now...

Honda should stop looking at what Toyota is doing, they are just building their first NSX, and if they want to lose money celebrating being the number one car maker, so be it. Honda needs to learn from VW, it has no place being in the over $70K market. Audi's V10 all wheel drive car is old news, and they can leave the US market, design all new models, and relaunch faster than Honda can build a supercar. Honda should look to JADKARs CRX project for inspiration. If Honda can offer a AWD package for under $20K, then just double the engine, tires and chassis. Why does it cost more than double? An ultracompact AWD exotic layout that stinks of AREA 51 Skunkwurxz for $70K, Type R sports suspension-seats-spoiler package $7K, supercharger package $7K, carbon fiber hood under $15K, please. While I can appreciate the NSX-R GT, the fact that it is the most over-priced car, for what you get above a normal NSX-R, is not lost on me, either.

So you want honda to build like a wrx/evo? A nice sports car honda will have will be the s2000 replacement. the v10 nsx replacement will be an exotic. honda doesn't need to make money for their halo car, ala toyota. their successes in irl and f1 and a halo car makes for great marketing for their car lineups. Just saw a honda commerical recently where they had irl cars in the back drop and them saying every car they make have racing technology in them (or something to that effect).
