Lexus LF-A Supercar concept revealed!, what happend HONDA??

Toyota really wants to do better in F-1 to really promote the business case for this car. I was surprised it was not a hybrid as what was rumored. The engine has not been decided to be a V-8 or V-10 b/c of any F-1 rule changes.

The next LS 460 will come in regular and for the first time 460l as in "long-wheelbase" versions. Lexus continues to move upmarket and this LF-A would really push the envelope of this trend.

And we also think it is mid-engined.

Sure looks like a tranny tunnel to me.

I also think its FR. that nose is not short at all. and like Anytime pointed out, that does look like a tranny tunnel.

I think its definitely mid engined.

As in behind the front axle. Look how short the nose is, yet how large the cab/glass are.

In that case you could be right, but you can say the same thing about the S2000 being a mid engine up front behind the front axle. It's just not the same. Like what was mentioned above, for $100K (If I were so lucky to be able to afford one) I would rather buy a used Ferrari 360. I know the Ferrari 575 Maranello is a front engine car, but when I think exotic I think mid engine (Engine in front of the rear axle). The Lexus LF-A may make a great GT sports car, but it doesn't have exotic appeal if that engine is up front. I wouldn't rule out owning one myself, but thus far it doesn't have the same appeal as a Ferrari 360 and the like no matter what sort of performance it has especially for $100K+. Good start, but I really wish/hope they make it mid engine (Engine in behind the driver).

Even on the Lexus webpage it stays this is a GT sports car. That too me says front engine, especially since they never came out and said it was mid engine. IF they were going after the exotic car market, the would staight out say it is a mid engine RWD with 500+ HP. That would get all the exotic car buyers ears wide open. But I hope I am wrong.

Good point. I really can't see Lexus making an all out sports car, its just not the companys direction. I can see a top of the line GT, like a Bentley Continental or CL Benz competitor.
The LF-A is shorter than a 911! This is a very compact car.

We'll see, hopefully it makes production

HUH  I know they grow some good sh!t over there in Hawaii, but it doesn't mean you should smoke it while posting

Maybe its those turbine style rims in bling bling chrome, but that thing is not very attractive to say the least....

I like it. I don't think it is a "supercar"- but it does look like a great replacement for the "pregnant Audi TT" looking SC430.
To be a front engine exotic I would think it would need to match wits with the Ferrari 550, and Aston Martin Vanquish- this car doesn't do that IMO, but it does look pretty sharp.
Call me crazy I guess...

"Nissan, Lexus Fight To Be 'Ring King

Supercar builders Nissan and Lexus have been battling it out on the track, even though their models won't go on sale until next year. Our sources report that competition between the Japanese giants is so intense, test drivers came close to crashing into one another.

The duo had apparently been dicing over track space at the Nürburgring in Germany, where the two coupés are currently being developed. According to our eyewitness, both the Lexus LF-A and Nissan GT-R are extremely quick, and in the hands of the experienced engineers have been setting ever faster laps. As the pair headed for a corner, neither driver would settle for second place, and they nearly made contact. Both machines are tipped to appear at the Tokyo Motor Show in October." - Autoexpress

Wow, while Lexus and Nissan are battling it out at the track for their supercar, Honda is doing basically short to nothing if they are going to make a sportscar again.
