next gen NSX climate control

Since the next gen NSX may be being developed now, I thought we should speak up about the climate control. Especially after the unkind words in autoweek about the Acura RSX (?) climate control.

Things that make me go hmmm...

Why doesn't the climate control recirculate when the inside air is much hotter than the setting?

Why doesn't the A/C ever try to cool my feet?

Why must I compensate for outside air temperature - I set at 68 when it's hot outside, and 72-74 when it's cooler outside - to be comfortable inside.

Why doesn't the climate control measure the air coming from the vents and switch to recirculate when it isn't making progress?

How about an adjustable mix of outside and inside air?

Whenever I read the interior is dated, I look at the climate controls that go from full auto to full manual with a few buttons and dials and think the UI is perfect - the unit just needs a little more intelligence and maybe a few more sensors.

Anyone else have any pet peeves?

I used to do this as well. Then one day I discovered that the fuses for my left and right evaporators were blown.

My climate control is pegged at 75/Full Auto 100% of the time... except when I need to defrost the windows.

Hot air rises, cool air drops. That is why the a/c comes out of the upper vents and the heat comes out of the lower ones. All cars work like this (as well as most home heating and a/c systems)

You can set it to cool your feet if you wanted to. In fact, I think my vent must be slightly ajar (Maybe some debris got stuck) so even when I set it to full upper vents I still get a bleed of cold AC air on my feet.

As for recirculate or fresh air, I thought in Full auto it does select either recirculate if set to the lowest degree setting, and will select either if on any other degree setting? I know my Acura Legend did that and the NSX AC is very similar. I know my Lexus RX330 has a dual climate control with an outside air temp sensor, but I really see no difference between the two AC systems. They seem to work the same. I don't even use the dual climate control setting since it seems like such a waste.

Up until now, I haven't even given the AC much thought. It seemsto work just as well as all my other Auto Climte Controled cars even our latest 04 Lexus.

The lowest and highest temperature settings are override settings - the lowest is full fan, full a/c, recirculate and the highest is similar for heating.

In between I don't recall seeing mine select recirculate on full auto in the summer.

Ideally I would expect it to select outside air until inside air is close to outside temperature and then switch to recirculate until inside air reaches desired temperature. Then it can switch back to outside air if (outside air + a/c <= desired temp). That's not asking too much, is it?

We have had some gawd awful heat in KC this year (100+ for the last 3 weeks). My unit seems to select recirculate when the inside temp is extreme and once a reasonable temp is reached, it shifts to outside air. My only complaint -- applies to all cars that I have been in for the last 30yrs -- is that the air conditioners are not strong enough. In the sixties, if one turned the air on high during extremely hot weather, the vents would frost over. Now that's cooling!

I get the best results by pointing the cool air against the front windshield only (no direct flow on me/passenger). I really think that this way air is distributed more uniformly in teh cabin.

I assume those are the fuses in the main relay box in the front for the condensers? None of mine are blown there.

I recently took two long trips (16 and 11 hours round trip) and the internal temperature was definitely fluctuating with external temperature.

I'm going to try the diagnostic.
